When I look back on my rapid growth in bookstagram, I could still remember the thrill and smiles it brought me as I see the numbers adding up and growing which resulted to complacencyโ€”in the sense that I have never considered the idea that losing more than what I gain is actually possible in this game. What I am learning now is that popularity in socials, nowadays, is easy to attain but to remain relevant is a whole different level and challenge.

I am now up for this challengeโ€”but one thing is for sure, I will always be grateful to this platform and for you guys who have been sticking around. This community will always be a place for me to voice out and be true to myself. Alongside this, it will forever be a wonderful experience for me to genuinely and deeply fall in love with reading as a habit which was tattooed on my being, by and with this community.

I am Jen, I am a #reader and a #bookstagrammer. โ™ก

Here are some of the books that kept me up all night:
~~The Winners by Fredrik Backman
~~The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
~~The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
~~The Burning God by R. F. Kuang
~~The 100-year-old Man Who Climbed Out of a Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonnasson

What are yours? Comment them and save this for future reference ๐Ÿค

Iโ€™m a bookstagrammer, of course I want free books, I wanna hoard books!!! But I just feel guilty now that I have plenty in my shelf, especially the free ones sent by authors and publishers but are left unread :( coz, I really do not read that fast and I have busy moments away from my books. So i just think it should be for those who could really attend to them. (Not to mention the other books I bought that are still sitting prettily in my shelf)

I mean, I just want to be more selective of the books this time. There are still some that I am saying yes too.. but only those titles that I think I will highly be inclined to read coz I know how expensive books are these days and they all deserve to be readโ€”but we all have different tastes in books, so I try to not just hoard them.

You can open my heart now and you will see how I am wanting to be able to read them all only if I could. So hereโ€™s my current dilemma as a bookstagram er.. what are your thoughts on this?

This is an open discussion for everyone. Feel free to share what you think about this.

Hello, whatโ€™s everyone reading? Just here to check in with you guys. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I would only be able to continue reading again this weekend, coz sometimes work can really ruin our reading patternโ€”but a good book hooks you up.

What I am liking about my current read which is โ€œAll the Light We Cannot Seeโ€ are the following:

โ€”i resonate with the engineering and science theme coz it is my profession and I am close with someone who would probably be like Werner who specializes in radios (the male protagonist)
โ€”Marie-Laure if I am not mistaken is my first blind protagonist and her dynamics with her father has a very special spot in my heart
โ€”the war theme has always been my interest and as someone who loved The Nightingale by @kristinhannahauthor , itโ€™s interesting for me to have another story in the same timeline which is during the WWII.

I am more than excited to read on, and I have a good feeling that I would finish this book soon.

As this year comes to end, this is me, pep talking to myself. I have only finished 48 books from my original goal of 60 books. Just 8 books more from last year where I only started in august. Obviously too much living happened! ๐Ÿ˜… but overall, 2023 is a year to remember. and yes, of course, I will continue reading and consuming more titles.

How was this reading year for you?

Have you identified your best read of the year, drop it in the comments!๐Ÿฅฐ

if this means watching it, it would definitely be sunset. For me the idea of endings is a relief because itโ€™s a reminder that whatever I am dealing with will eventually end no matter how bad or good it is.. sunsets I would say grounds me in a positive way.

I would say Sunja of Pachinko in the sense of being a fighter in life. Personally, I believe that I can create lemonades from whatever lemons life would throw my way. Despite the reality of Pachinkoโ€™s first line, life goes on and I would go along with it.
