People often see the performances, but they don’t always see the years of preparation behind them.

I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve had to play, travel, and grow as a musician. Every rehearsal, every session, every show has been another step in the journey.

Here’s a question for everyone:
If you could master one skill—music or otherwise—what would it be and why?

I’d love to hear your answers. Let’s talk in the comments. 👇🥁

It’s going down in just a few hours!!! Meet us at The Wharf tonight as we celebrate Juneteenth in true DC fashion. With that CRANK!

Also, it isn’t lost on us that The Wharf has a lot of significant and painful history as it was once a port for slaves being sold and traded. If you’re not familiar, look up The Pearl Incident and always #rememberthepearl

Not to mention we are living in a crazy time as our rights and liberties are constantly at risk. So today, we honor all those who made sacrifices to give us those rights and this holiday; this opportunity to celebrate and honor Black culture. To celebrate everything we love about our people. Which by the way, if you’re not doing everyday - you’re already messing up…

Join us tonight!!! It’s gonna be a party. 🎉

Thanks to @vz_visuals for this awesome promo vid!

🖤💚❤️

💛 IT TAKES A VILLAGE 💛 My sophomore EP comes out Friday, thanks to so many people. Please allow me to give them their flowers.

Brandon Lane - Producer for FLOWERS and exceptional bassist. What a joy it's been working with you, as a collaborator and confidante. When I was stressed or anxious, you reminded me to "trust the process." How right you were. It all came together perfectly, in very large part to you. Thank you for being so generous and dedicated to my dream 🙏🏾🤎.

Desiree & Tristen - My Blossoms, throughout this whole process you have taken such great care of me and my music. I leave every session feeling uplifted and centered in my purpose. Thank you for your generosity and beautiful voices. And Dante', for your incredible tenor contributions to BGVs. The fact that you recorded your part the day your son was born speaks to your incredible skill and dedication. The three of you together are magic.

Chris, Jason, Joey, Zach, Andrew, Paul, Carson, Reginald, Trey, Geraldo, & Jackson - What an incredible band. You all showed up each day and gave your best. It is a joy and privilege to work with such talented people.

Chris especially - thank you for being a friend. You step up to every creative challenge I set, supporting me on and off stage. Working with you these last 5 years has been a dream, and I'm so excited for the world to hear more of your work soon. P.S. "Voice Note" may be my favorite thing we've ever done 🥲.

Curtis (Spacebomb) & Ben (Ivakota) - Thank you for the beautiful spaces to create beautiful music. I've loved working with you, and your craftsmanship on this record was stunning to witness.

Gene Paul - To have worked with a legend like Gene and have his expert ear was a delight I couldn't have dreamed of. Thank you for providing the last piece of the puzzle to make the record sing!

VZ, Mohamadou, Caleb/Kyle/Steven, John - The BLOOM visuals are stunning, I can't wait to post more soon. Thank you for sharing your time and amazing talents!

Many more thanks to come. For now, I am just so blessed and grateful 🙏🏾🩷🥹🌷.
