Long outstanding, way overdue appreciation post to the fam I never knew I was looking for: @queeranalogdarkroom ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŽž๏ธ Itโ€™s been more than 3 years that weโ€˜ve come together and started working collectively, with much hardship, commitment and (un)learning on the way + believe it or not weโ€™re still here! This project and the many people involved, closely and from a distance have been such a source of strength, inspiration and also hope that collectivity can indeed persist. Many big and small things are happening & I am so grateful to be part of this chaotic bunch and over the moon to see what the future has in store for us ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’ž

It was just a bit over a week ago Aziz asked me to document a trans-masc mosh pit and cause I am a sucker for queer hot content I said yes without hesitation. In just a matter of days we pulled this off, despite the torrential downpour and a malfunctioning moody Mamiya, grrr So hereโ€™s to us, our community, our joy, our anger and our many folds of being ๐Ÿพโœจ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ I couldnโ€™t be more humbled and proud to have my directorโ€™s debut with such a sweet & genuine crew of people and am forever grateful to all of you: Creative Directors & Founders of Open Dy*ke: @open @wooly.aziz @sacreblair Director & Photographer: @jetphoto DOP & Videographer: @moe.zot Gaffer & Photography Assistant: @anjuschkaspelmeni BTS Photographer:@zulemarose Colourist: @salty.colours Movement Director: @verysexyslug Catering: @mehfil.meh.fil Rockstar Cast: @kerosin95 @itsvioss @_turbo_culosis_ @waaamboi @kaejslater @dimpledoesdrag@wooly.aziz @zain_hqq @mahitamusic @beanzthebean @walkerson50 @draculonx Stay tuned for the ultimate reveal tomorrow ๐Ÿคซโฐ๐Ÿšจ

Time flies, we blinked twice and suddenly we jumped from November into the New Year and suddenly found ourselves in February already!!! ๐ŸŒž Since our proper functioning opening in autumn 2024 we were able to give whooping 21 workshops to our community โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ from developing both color and black & white films, to printing both and also workshops about identity and portrait shooting. Moreover, we held interviews, built alliances, organised fundraisers, made an amazing calendar and raised funds with it & additionally were able to welcome our six new members!! Members who became gorgeous, talented and enthusiastic guinea pigs in our endeavour to offering an affordable, accessible photography darkroom. This post is meant as a celebration but also as an update for all of you who shared your interest in becoming part of our membership system and have been patiently waiting ever since. Having done so much & rolling out so many workshops, other technical and administrative tasks are still on our โ€œTo Doโ€ list and most importantly nurturing a collective, spending quality time so we donโ€™t get exhausted is right now priority! โค๏ธ Therefore, we decided to push back our extension of memberships until July 2025, as many of our core collective members will be unavailable in the next weeks due to personal life challenges and commitments & we need all hands on deck to create a system that is sustainable long term (financially & structurally). Also, so we donโ€™t get grumpy for you in the summer ๐Ÿคญ SENDING THANK YOUโ€™S TO: Our new members! they were nothing short of amazing in the last weeks, so this is also a huge thank you to them for their commitment & understanding when things werenโ€™t working Our workshop participants! Special thank you to @neuworkshop for supporting us in many ways possible ๐Ÿซ‚ All of you, who follow this journey, have and are supporting us and grace us with your patience and online & in person support! As always, stay up to date here for coming workshops in March & April, further fundraiser, and other collaborations. And please reach out to us for any kind of ideas about projects and so on โค๏ธ
