Living History

For almost a century, its concrete structure, towers, ramps and unmistakable silhouette have been part of the collective memory of the city. Its identity extends far beyond the pitch. It lives in the tram arriving before a match, in the crowds moving through the neighbourhood, in the smell of the salamella from the food stalls outside, in the concrete towers, in the ritual of approaching the stadium with thousands of other people.
The experience begins long before entering the stadium. San Siro is not simply a stadium. It is a piece of urban choreography, deeply connected to the habits and culture of Milan. They are part of what makes San Siro unique. A new structural layer wraps around and grows from the existing stadium, creating the possibility of a contemporary, high-performance venue while preserving the architectural elements that have become inseparable from the identity of the place and people’s life. The stadium becomes an organism retaining the memory embedded within its structure.
Because a city does not need to choose between its history and its future. Sometimes the future is built by allowing history to continue and evolve.

Happy Constitution Day to Nepal! 🇳🇵✨
True independence requires self-reliance. For an import-dependent nation, local production of vital resources is key to sovereignty.
As a friendly tribute, I present an unofficial proposal: #SinghaDurbarReboot. A vision to transform the government seat into a fully autonomous, eco-resilient state infrastructure.
What this concept proposes:
🏛️ Smart Skin: Neoclassical facade integrated with hidden seismic retrofitting.
💧 Eco-Pool: Upgrading the front pool into an aquaponics system with fish for water purification.
🌿 Food Sovereignty: Designated wings with vertical hydroponics for a state food reserve.
🌱 Clean Air & Energy: Solar-glass roofs and microalgae bioreactors for air filtration.
🎓 AgTech Platform: An innovation hub combining a Sandbox, Know-How Hub, and Bootcamp.
Honorable Prime Minister @balenshah & @pmonepal, let’s show how green tech powers national autonomy! 🚀
Concept by Volodymyr Dizhak. Visualization: Gemini.

Shape of Water

The Canary Islands are landscapes born from volcanic eruptions where beneath it lies an active heart. The natural elements, the energy and context become a living architectural space and experience. They are part of it and amplify what is already there. Gravity becomes the architect, water becomes the material. Water becomes a moving sculpture, constantly changing with light, weather, temperature and volume. During the day, the project belongs to water. At night, it belongs to the volcanic nature of the archipelago. Against the darkness of the volcanic rock, the distinction between architecture and geological landscape begins to disappear. The same water tells two different stories. The project plays with the paradox of water becoming its own opposite: by day, it is transparent, reflective and cool, cascading river; by night, through the choreography, it becomes warm, luminous and almost molten, transforming water into lava and architecture into a fragment of the volcanic geology.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has revealed the shortlist of four projects located across Belgium and Bangladesh that are vying for the world’s most prestigious award for architecture, the RIBA International Prize 2026.

One of four shortlists, WOHA's BRAC University campus is built on a former landfill site in Dhaka, Bangladesh, transforms a neglected urban site into a vertical campus serving 20,000 students and public spaces, embedding the site into the local neighbourhood. The 15-storey building contains nine floors of teaching facilities topped with a publicly accessible park, creating a new design model for education in dense urban settings. Using passive cooling strategies, natural cross-ventilation and extensive landscaping, the campus focuses on increasing climate resilience, while creating spaces for learning, interaction and community use. Through its integration of sustainability, education and public life, BRAC University demonstrates how architecture can support both environmental resilience and wider urban regeneration.

WOHA offers our heartiest congratulations to the other three shortlisted projects, namely:

● Green Field Factory, (Rangpur, Bangladesh) by @nakshabid_architects
● Royale Belge, (Brussels, Belgium) by @carusostjohn in collaboration with @bovenbouw.architectuur and @dds.plus
● Z33 / House for Contemporary Art, Design & Architecture, (Hasselt, Belgium) by @francescatorzo.architetto.

The four projects are now in contention for the fifth RIBA International Prize, with the winner to be announced on 15 October 2026, alongside the recipient of the RIBA International Emerging Architect award.

Brit Pop

Familiar references are stripped down and amplified: red brick, arches, repetition, colour and rhythm. The traditional becomes graphic. The ordinary becomes iconic. The building becomes a conversation between two moments of British confidence: the Victorian materiality with the Cool Britannia attitude. The result is neither historic nor nostalgic. It is a contemporary interpretation of the visual language of the city: colourful, confident, different but deeply rooted in its culture. Not a replica of London, but London reimagined through its own language.
