Some behind-the-scenes photos from last night’s filming of “Happy Birthday,” project directed by @tonysurphman

We were filming high above the city, on a rooftop in the heart of Hollywood! Nothing beats a night on set with a great cast and crew, a shared passion for filmmaking, and a whole lot of fun!

Before I was spun, inverted and screamed all my stress out on the new Fast & Furious ride, I was in the Upside Down when @browencom was a lackey, @_scarecrowjoe_ was Mariner and two new faces (to me) were strutting their stuff on the atoll. It was the train ride, dentist appointment and Universal Studios visit I didn’t know I needed.

This is only the BTS…👀 Action short film coming soon with @tonysurphman ⚔️🔥

So much work goes into bringing these action sequences to life, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone involved behind the scenes.

Big respect to our stunt team (our real heroes) ❤️

Sunday in Hollywood. Crowded streets, tourists everywhere, people relaxing, random characters passing through… and right in the middle of it all, robots fighting in the streets. 🤖🔥

No closed city. No perfect conditions. Just Los Angeles being Los Angeles while we keep rolling and create the craziest action we can.

Sometimes the chaos around you becomes part of the movie.

🎬 HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Los Angeles. One night. One girl nobody should underestimate.

Happy Birthday is a short action film about a fragile-looking Chinese girl who finds herself in the middle of brutal street fights in Los Angeles. She may look delicate, but when danger comes, she knows exactly how to stand her ground.

Fast. Stylish. Unexpected.
Never judge strength by appearance.

best pride ever 🤪 i’ve never known myself so deeply, loved life so fully, or felt such a deep purpose in the world. happier than ever and bursting with inspiration & new dreams.

i had to ask myself what it is that makes me love pride. i already know how to love myself so what keeps me so passionate? my friend @craving_a_burrito helped me find the words: pride is the one weekend a year, in this heteronormative world, that i get to feel normal. all of the daily reminders of my othering fade into a utopian daydream of normalcy. i’m lucky enough that i’ve found a world that accepts me for who i am. but what more can i do for myself and others like me? 🤔 only time will tell!

love yew all 🤍
