The Dubuque Wahlert team came in to Better Golf tonight after their practice round for the State Championship! They enjoyed some Harris pizza, mapped their course management strategy on the big screen, and finished the evening with a chipping contest. Vibes were high today and we are excited to see them compete Monday & Tuesday at Davenport Country Club. Good luck boys! 🏌🏼‍♂️💯

New Podcast 🚨: Connor Walsh: Golden Eagle Grinder — Basketball, Golf, and the Art of Doing It All

In this episode of the Dubuque Area Sports Podcast, Coach Maneman sits down with Wahlert Catholic’s two-sport standout, Connor Walsh — a smooth-shooting guard on the hardwood and a calm-under-pressure competitor on the golf course.

Connor gives us a fun, behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like juggling varsity basketball and varsity golf, how he developed his game growing up, and the inspirations that shaped him into one of Wahlert’s most versatile athletes.

We talk returning stats, leadership, momentum heading through the season, and how he handles school, sports, workouts, and everything in between. Connor also dives into the Golden Eagle culture, the off-season grind, and his goals for the rest of his high school career.

Light-hearted, honest, and full of laughs — including his take on Coach Maneman as a teacher 🤣 — this episode gives you an inside look at one of the area’s most well-rounded student-athletes.

A must-listen for any Golden Eagle fan, basketball junkie, golf lover, or multi-sport athlete!
