A lovely lunch and great to hear David Graeme McAllister AC (born 25 November 1963) is the former artistic director and principal dancer of The Australian Ballet. Talk about his journey over the last few years and his inspiration to write his latest book - Ballet Confidental. Special to catch up with some of the fabulous ballet family too.

Champagne please…….🇦🇺🌈🌸🌺🌹❤️🥳😘🥰🩰🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂

Message from Toni Stevens ……
We’ve lost so many wonderful entertainers over the last few months that I never thought I would be letting you know that another Australian icon has gone to God. The beautiful, and much revered, DOROTHY BARRY passed away on the 21st October 2022 at the age of 94. Dorothy was one of the last remaining Australian variety stars of the 1960’s and onwards, and possibly the most sought-after and busiest performers of her time. She was known as “Australia’s own Vera Lynn” and was sure to be booked for at least three to four shows every Anzac Day!

Back in the sixties she was a regular with her showbiz sister, Lorna, on Six O’Clock Rock and Bandstand and, as the Barry Sisters, were often coupled with the Allen Brothers (with Peter Allen) for duets.

Dorothy was also a founding member and on the first committee of ALVA and spent many hours, and sometimes days, helping out with our fundraising events.

She and husband Bill, had two beautiful children, son Gary and daughter Robyn who, many years ago, was diagnosed with dementia and every single day, without fail, from around 11am until 5pm, Dorothy would go to the Nursing Home and care for Robyn.
I always maintained that this was why, at the age of 94, she was still a very capable and energetic senior. I visited her just a few months ago and she was her usual bubbly self, but now feel it was a blessing that she was taken so quickly.

So, rest in peace, my dear friend, up there in the wide blue yonder and, who knows, one day to be sure …. “We’ll Meet Again”. Love from Toni
