So you’re visiting Bath and need some restaurant reccos? I got you.

Bath has been my family home for over 20 years, so here’s my guide to the places the locals ACTUALLY eat at.

*Content heavily fact-checked by my parents

Bath is a stunner of a city, with a seriously good food scene to match. From brilliant neighbourhood bistros and proper pubs to exceptional seafood, pasta joints and Michelin-starred dining, there’s plenty worth making the trip for.

I’ve pulled together some of my most recommended spots. A few old favourites, some newer arrivals, and all worth knowing about.

Save this one for your next trip to Bath. And for the locals - what have I missed? 👀 #visitbath

Cartizze is the most celebrated and tightly defined hill area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, a small amphitheatre of steep vineyards in the hills of Valdobbiadene. Its combination of elevation, exposure and complex soils gives the wines a distinctive balance of aromatic intensity, freshness and elegance.

At Col Vetoraz, we explored this unique terroir through a range of wines, seeing how different exposures and parcels express themselves. Cartizze is not simply about sweetness or richness: at its best, it is about the tension between ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and a refined, persistent finish — a true expression of place within the DOCG.

ASK THE TEAM: PART ONE 🎤

We asked Duncan, Natasha, Alex and Larissa the important questions - from their favourite coffee spots and the last thing they binge-watched, to what they *think* they’d be doing if they didn’t work in property… 👀

Consider this your chance to get to know the people behind Zest a little better - with some brilliant local recommendations along the way.

A little shoutout to a few of the cafés and restaurants mentioned: @hudsonsteakhousebath @solinapasta @walcotbath @noyaskitchen @goodiesdeli @colonnacoffee - we can highly reccomend them all!

Whose answers surprised you the most? And what should we ask the team next?

Yesterday I shared why I don’t think we run gyms anymore.

I think we run hospitality businesses that just happen to use CrossFit to change people’s lives.

Because the thing people remember most isn’t the programming, the equipment or even the workouts.

It’s how you made them feel.

The best hospitality isn’t random acts of kindness from people with great memories.

It’s culture, supported by systems.

At CrossFit Bath we don’t leave that to chance.

Every new member is discussed as a team so every coach understands who they are and why they’ve joined.

We share member wins, life updates and difficult moments so the whole coaching team can support them.

We log consultation notes so every coach has context before they step onto the gym floor.

None of it’s perfect.

But every one of those systems makes it more likely that someone feels seen, valued and cared for.

I don’t think that’s unique to gyms either.

Whatever business you’re in, people rarely remember every detail of what you did.

They remember how you made them feel.

How do you build hospitality into your business, rather than hoping it happens naturally?
