🏈 It’s a big Friday night in East County!

The Pirates of Pittsburg High School are hosting Liberty High School Lions this Friday, and with two great football teams taking the field, even the Chiefs of Police are getting in on the rivalry.

So naturally, a friendly wager had to happen.

Pittsburg is home to the legendary New Mecca Café, and Brentwood… well, they’ve got some pretty good corn. 🌽

If Pittsburg wins, Brentwood owes us a case of their finest corn. If Liberty wins, we’ll make sure they get some New Mecca.

Either way, East County wins. Two great communities, two great football programs, and one fun Friday night under the lights.

🏴‍☠️ MUCH RESPECT TO THE PITTSBURG COACHING STAFF! 🏈📸

I just want to give a huge shoutout to the Pittsburg High Varsity coaching staff. Y’all have been doing an excellent job with these young men! The work, preparation, leadership, and dedication don’t go unnoticed. 💯👏🏾

Pittsburg battled Los Gatos all the way to the final whistle, falling just one point short, 28–27. No matter what the scoreboard says, games like this show the fight and heart of this program. 🏴‍☠️

Keep pushing, Pirates. The season isn’t defined by one game. 💪🏾🔥
