We’ve been sitting on our good intentions, thinking the next election was going to change us or an economic upturn would make things better. We’ve thought this was going to happen apart from us. We are the people of God. We’re light and salt. If the light is dim and the salt is absent, it’s on us.

They change the accusation every 15–20 years—immoral, then atheists, now ‘all racists’—but the target stays the same: the Founders. Once you trash the men, you can call the documents ‘poisonous fruit’ and toss them. It’s not history. It’s a strategy. Reject the lies.

@mrtimbarton says something is shifting in the Church.

Pastors are waking up, believers are getting off the sidelines, and faith is beginning to move from the pews into the culture.

His question is bigger than revival: are we stepping into a new Great Awakening?

Texas Faith Summit: Equipping Pastors on Elections

"Most pastors that sign up for the role, they want to be teachers and preachers, not leaders. And the reality is, as we look at our nation, what we celebrate are the leaders that helped accomplish and do things." - @mrtimbarton, President of @wallbuilders

@mrtimbarton (@wallbuilders) says Christians can’t confuse being “nice” with being discerning.

What do you think? Are Christians discerning policy through Scripture, or personality?

The first Texas Faith Summit was a HUGE success!

Over 180 Texas pastors and faith leaders joined @governorabbott at the Governor’s Mansion to hear about how important it is for them to stand up and use their voice to save the future of Texas.

We also got to gather together in prayer and worship, equip them to mobilize their Church to serve local needs, and learn how to advance Christian conservative policies for the next generation.

Several grassroots organizations and bold pastors united to take a stand. We are excited for the future of Texas as pastors continue engaging in the fight for our nation.

We’re just getting started!

How should we teach about Christopher Columbus? Some argue we shouldn’t teach about him at all. Others say we should only focus on the negatives. | @wallbuilders and @mrtimbarton

An honor to spend the morning with @governorabbott and 100 Texas pastors. This afternoon I get to challenge and encourage the pastors with examples and stories of pastors from early America. Without the influence of pastors in the church, America never would become a nation. Without pastors in the church, America might not continue to be a nation.

Tim Barton of WallBuilders explains the overlooked role pastors and the First Great Awakening played in shaping the American Revolution.

For decades before the Revolution, pastors were preaching messages of biblical liberty, human dignity, and resistance to tyranny. Barton argues that understanding the Great Awakening is essential to understanding how the American Revolution became possible.

What role did the Church play in America’s founding?
