The first urban legend I ever heard of was that Walt Disney was cryogenically frozen until they could cure the cancer that was killing him. Around the time of me hearing it, there were a ton of tv shows and films that featured cryogenic freezing: Austin Powers and Futurama just to name a few!

The premise of “Walt Unfrozen” is simple: Walt Disney is unfrozen and has to attend a big meeting with Disney employees. He arrives still dripping from his thaw but ready to get the ball rolling. That is, of course, after relieving himself in a couple of bottles. (Classic cryogenics joke.)

He works his way around the crowd, handing out stickers to reward people who give him ideas or just in general praise him, oddly reminiscent of Walt’s habit of carrying around cards with his autograph on them to pass out to people who he met in public.

The objective is simple: he needs to meet the Disney employees, learn what the internet is, generate movie ideas, and kill Mickey Mouse. We head into an hour of insanity as Walt attempts not only to battle the changes of our society and technology, but also the antifreeze in his brain causing him to hallucinate his classic creations like Tinkerbell and, of course, his beloved Mickey Mouse.

Caleb Dollar is not only incredibly charming, but he is effortlessly funny! His crowd work skills are among some of the best I have seen, and for a show that has Walt Disney peeing in bottles and tonguing an imaginary Mickey Mouse, he can so easily win the crowd back over, that it is hard to be nothing less than in awe of him. His improv skills are top-notch, turning every interaction into a hilarity, and my God how I wish you were there to see him have to convince a woman in my audience into giving up the imaginary Mickey Mouse he placed in her arms because she refused for fear Walt would kill him.
