It’s about COMMUNITY… It’s about RELATIONSHIPS… This weekend was a good reminder of why I love what I do. Right in my own backyard (almost walkable from my home!) my wife & I spent time at The Grounds of Livev in Oakton, VA at their Outsiders Only event.  Described as “a festival of wild artistry & community,” this outdoor market was bursting with artists, handmade treasures, local flavors and vendors from all around our area!   Live music under the trees, llamas and goats grazing along the fence line, and a line up of makers who clearly pour everything into their craft. My wife wasted no time at all purchasing artwork from their “Artist In Residence” Pooja Campbell and is looking forward to commissioning her for more in our home. Real estate is about more than square footage.  It’s about the community you’re buying into, and days like this are exactly why people fall in love with Oakton and our entire Northern Virginia area.   The Grounds at Livev is a 23 acre farm that was built to do just that - build relationships & community by offering a place to gather for creative classes, wellness workshops, animal experiences and a fabulous equestrian facility for lessons and trail rides. Check out their website at  https://www.thegrounds.com/.    I hope you will support these local vendors from our own community! #OutsidersOnly #TheGroundsOfLivev #OaktonVA #ShopLocal #MakersMarket NoVALiving

Floral Fridays 🖤 Juneteenth Edition Today is Juneteenth, a day about freedom, and about everything freedom asks of a community once the celebration quiets down. Supporting Black-owned businesses is one of the most concrete ways freedom becomes more than a word. Not a single day of reposts. Not a graphic that gets archived by Monday. The standing order. The referral to a friend. The choice to spend here instead of there, again and again, long after the hashtags fade. I’ve been reminded lately, in a personal way, that values printed on a wall or tucked into a mission statement are not the same as values lived. Community isn’t a sentiment, and it isn’t a think piece. It’s who shows up, with their time, their dollars, their loyalty, when showing up actually costs something. So today, and every ordinary day after: buy from us. But also the baker, the barber, the bookkeeper, the brand two doors down. Send them flowers from HeyFlorette.com. Leave the review. Tell a friend. That’s what a community is actually made of. #juneteenth #blackbusinessowner #blackwomen #buyblack #blackgirlmagic

Floral Fridays 🌺 Worth the Wait A little late for Floral Friday, but some things deserve extra time. Tomorrow’s collection update arrives on HeyFlorette.com, featuring new vessels and fresh Designer’s Choice creations that I’ve been so excited to share. Every arrangement is thoughtfully designed, each one carrying its own story, mood, and intention. This season has reminded me that growth and beauty can come from unexpected places. Through every challenge, creating has remained my anchor, a way to turn emotion into something tangible and beautiful. To everyone who has supported Hey Florette, cheered me on, shared my work, ordered flowers, and believed in this dream: thank you! Your encouragement means more than you know, and it’s because of this community that I get to keep doing what I love. #florals #designerchoice #floraldesign #flowersofinstagram #smallbusiness
