This is your sign to book a trip : Nothing offers elevation mile per mile like @grandtetonnps. By booking a reserved campsite, we dominated 11.5 miles round trip, 1lb devoted to peanut butter, 10 blisters. Constant bear watch. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I’ve included the website so you can book your own backcountry campsite, bear safe, ready to use!

The 🌞 solstice has brought so much growth into my life 🏔️
I crushed out my first major hike since surgery on my ACL and my healing journey is only getting more exponential🧘🏼‍♀️ 4 hikes down, so many to come in 2023 😊
Next, backpacking 🥾

I highly recommend this hike on a blue sky day. You will not be sorry! No permit required, only a National Park Pass 🏔️

May I be safe
May I be happy
May I be healthy
May I be at ease

Each day, we’re given many opportunities to open up or shut down. The most precious opportunity presents itself when we come to the place where we think we can’t handle whatever is happening. It’s too much. It’s gone too far. We feel bad about ourselves. There’s no way we can manipulate the situation to make ourselves come out looking good. No matter how hard we try, it just won’t work. Basically, life has just nailed us.

Most of us do not take these situations as teachings. We automatically hate them. We run like crazy. We use all kinds of ways to escape—all addictions stem from this moment when we meet our edge and we just can’t stand it. We feel we have to soften it, pad it with something, and we become addicted to whatever it is that seems to ease the pain. In fact, the rampant materialism that we see in the world stems from this moment. There are so many ways that have been dreamt up to entertain us away from the moment, soften its hard edge, deaden it so we don’t have to feel the full impact of the pain that arises when we cannot manipulate the situation to make us come out looking fine. - Pema Chödrön

On March 12, 2022, I could have died but for some reason, I’m still here. Every day since then, I’ve been trying to understand the reasons why. At some point, I’d have to come to terms with the person I used to be no longer existing on this earth and decide what that means for the person I’d like to become.

Disappointment, embarrassment, and all these places where we just cannot feel good are a sort of death. We’ve just lost our ground completely. Rather than realizing that it takes death for there to be birth, we just fight against the fear of death. Reaching our limit is not some kind of punishment. It’s actually a sign of health that, when we meet the place where we are about to die, we feel fear and trembling. A further sign of health is that we don’t become undone by fear and trembling, but we take it as a message that it’s time to stop trembling and look directly at what’s threatening us. Things like disappointment and anxiety are messengers telling us that we’re about to go into unknown territory. - Pema Chödrön

On March 12, 2022, I almost died. I had entered unknown territory. The depression, panic attacks, insomnia, PTSD, and concussion have made me feel like I’m coming undone. This is where mindfulness and meditation are a life source. There is no ground for your feet to land on so abandon all hope. Hope robs us of the present moment. This moment is the perfect teacher.

Happy 🌗 until our Pisces New Moon 🌚

Pro Tip: You can drive Shafer Trail with any off-roading vehicle! Don’t even think of attempting the White Rim Road if your vehicle isn’t lifted and carrying extra gas, but this offshoot that heads back towards Moab offers the perfect adventure for those of us that can’t take the longer route. You’ll find canyons, trails, the Colorado river, & plenty of BLM to camp. Take your car camping trip to the next level!

Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test out to overcome the problem, but the truth is that they don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy. Things are always in transition, if we could only realize it. - Pema Chödrön

At the end of 2021, I gave myself room for all to happen. I opened my heart up for a new year and new connections, and was making closure with my deaths and losses. What I wasn’t ready for, was springing forward into 2022.

Warst du an Silvester Zuhause ?
