Images from the sixth night and early day hiking Mount Kilimanjaro. The summit day! Temperature around -15C, and fortunately very little wind. The pace was so slow that it took five layers to keep the cold out. But we were still out of breath most of the time due to the lack of oxygen. Beautiful sunrise views at Stella Point and summit at 5895m at 07:25 after 8,5 hours of hiking.

We did it!

We only stayed at the top for a short period of time before starting the descent. Hiked back to Barafu Camp for lunch and a little break.

First of many posts from my Kilimanjaro adventure💫 I still can’t believe we did it. It was definitely the hardest, most challenging and physically demanding thing I’ve ever done.
.
I was feeling very good up until 5100m. The journey beyond that point showed how precious every breath is. Without sugarcoating - it was brutal😅 I will forever be grateful to our guiding team, our chefs and porters for this experience and taking care of us throughout these 7 days🥹

I am so so happy I did it with people I love and made so many new friendships along the way😍 I can’t wait for our next adventure!!💫

Even though I didn’t get to summit Kili this time due to health reasons, I’m a big believer that everything happens for a reason. This trip allowed me to create a countless number of memories with a group of 20 strangers who I’m proud to have trauma bonded with for 7 delightfully miserable days and nights 😂.
The mountain taught me so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned any other way. It taught me to be grateful for the little things we tend to take for granted—oxygen, running water, sleep, warmth, shelter, good company, health, and a good appetite (iykyk 🤭). Nonetheless, this is only the beginning.
If there’s anything I know about myself, it’s that there’s nothing that fuels my fire more than failure, and I’ve been trying to bring that fire back for the past 6 years. Time to lock in. #kilimanjaro2027
