One of the best meals we have ever had as a family cost us almost nothing and happened on a street in Kuala Lumpur.

We gave everyone a turn to choose a dish. No vetoes, no arguments, full trust in whoever was pointing at the menu. Everything landed on the table and everything got shared.

Every single dish was a hit.

The grilled calamari was smoky and perfect. The Nasi Lemak, Malaysia’s national dish of coconut rice, sambal, and anchovies, was the kind of thing that makes you understand why people eat it for breakfast. The rotisserie chicken wings had a line of locals waiting for them, which told us everything we needed to know before we even tasted one.

And then someone chose marshmallow ice cream. We are still talking about it.

Kuala Lumpur has some of the most extraordinary street food in the world and we have barely scratched the surface. There is a lot more of this city to share.

Follow along.

Busy week with the travel industry at IPW 2026 welcoming visitors to experience the U.S.A. 🇺🇸 This year, sunny Fort Lauderdale hosted this legendary invite-only event. ✈️

I met with 20+ US destinations at Media Marketplace, uncovered new and interesting things to do around the country, caught up with travel brands on the show floor, and got to have quality time with my international and US travel buddies. ✨

Thanks @ustravelipw for a productive week! 👊💪🙌

Our first IPW! 🦩

This week we attended our first @ustravelipw conference in @visitlauderdale where the world comes to learn what different destinations in the US have to offer 🌎

We had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful folks who are committed to welcoming travelers of all walks of life and got to spend quality time with friends and colleagues making an impact in their local communities.

Physically we are exhausted, have no voices, and are looking forward to laying horizontal, but internally we feel so hopeful, happy, and grateful.

Special shout out to our crew @boboandchichi @travelingmitch @brimitchelltravels and @wanderingwagars for giving us some great laughs and core memories 🥹💕

There's a version of Calgary that most people know: cowboy hats, rodeo, gateway to Banff. That version isn't wrong, exactly. It's just incomplete.

The version I found was a city with one of the most underrated food and cocktail scenes in the country. A downtown pedestrian strip on Stephen Ave that was packed and alive on a random Tuesday. A sidecar motorcycle tour blasting through heritage neighbourhoods, past the Saddledome, out to an overlook above the city with the Rockies filling the entire western horizon. A helicopter ride that took off from the city limits and made it impossible to pretend Calgary is just a launchpad for somewhere else.

But the thing that changed my perspective most wasn't a restaurant or a mountain view. It was the locals. Passionate, warm, almost evangelical about their city in the best possible way. They wanted us to see what they see every day. And by the end of three days, we did.

Is @tourismcalgary on your list, or has Banff always stolen its thunder? 👇

Planning a dinner out in Whistler Village? There is a clear reason why Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar, located right on Gateway Drive, is ranked on the list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants.

The modern, moody decor gives it a sophisticated atmosphere while staying completely welcoming. The hospitality is very attentive, paired with skilfully executed wine pairings that complement the flavours of the kitchen.

The menu focuses on fresh Pacific Northwest seafood and premium local ingredients. For a group dinner or a special night out in British Columbia, these specific menu choices are excellent:
-Two-Tier Seafood Tower (featuring exceptional fresh clams)
-Sablefish
-Ribeye from Bueckert Family Farms

If you are heading to Whistler BC, this is a fantastic addition to your culinary list. Have you dined here yet? Let me know your favourite restaurant recommendations in the area.

Gifted experience.

There was nothing between me and the ground but thin air and a piece of metal about the width of my wrist.

I was on a cliff face at @tyroparc in the Laurentians — rungs and cables bolted into the rock, a sheer drop below, the Quebecois trees doing nothing reassuring in the wind. This is Via Ferrata. And it might be the best thing happening in summer in Quebec right now.

@tourismemonttremblant isn't just a ski destination. They're a mountain playground in summer — Via Ferrata and ziplines in Sainte-Agathe, a mountain luge at Tremblant, treetop circus shows on a 40-metre observation tower, fly fishing on La Diable River, and a Nordic spa cold plunge to end it all.

@tourismelaurentides is about 90 minutes north of Montreal and a completely natural add-on to an Ontario summer road trip heading east. I came for a ski town's off-season. I found something that's earned its own season.

Drop a 🏔️ if the Laurentians are on your radar this summer.

A lil round-up of my faves at my first Travel Media Association of Canada @tmacontario conference! 💃🏾🇨🇦

Even though I’ve been travel writing for 20 years, I’ve never really been a member of any professional travel writing group aside from Adventure Travel Trade Association @adventuretravelassociation. But after not being able to work for four years as I recovered from my car accident, it’s been more difficult for me to navigate the industry so I decided to join.

I recovered almost alone, a bit rare for survivors, and I have felt somewhat alone these past few years. So, I’ve been craving connection, community and joy: my three guiding principles right now.

I was glad to have found elements of these the past few days thanks to @tmacontario and what seems like a supportive fam jam that I’m here for…!

As I sit in the Munich airport awaiting my connecting flight, I look forward to connecting with, I hope, a few of these faces around the world! 🌎😀🙌🏾
