🚨 2-0. TWO FIGHTS. TWO FINISHES.

Carley Ochoa continues her undefeated start in amateur MMA.

Ochoa improved to 2-0 Saturday night after securing a second-round rear-naked choke submission victory over Terjuana Short at Caged Aggression XLII: The Perfect Storm, held at the RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa.

Training with Resurgence Kickboxing and Wanderley Jiu Jitsu, Ochoa has now finished both of her amateur bouts by submission, maintaining a 100% finishing rate.

With back-to-back finishes to open her career, Ochoa is establishing herself as a promising prospect on the Midwest regional MMA scene.

1st BJJ competition in the books.

The amount of support from the @wanderleyjiujitsu team I train with and the learning lessons I took was phenomenal.

1st match - dominated by points and positioning, but exerted to much energy trying to submit when I was up double digits.

2nd match - loss to triangle hold. Was passing guard well but failed to have a strong posture, plus i was gassed from 1st match being back to back and threw up 1 min before this match xD. Big breakfest was bad a bad idea. My triangle defense will be unstoppable now. Crazy because we drilled defense on it for the last 2 weeks.

3rd match being- won bronze. Dominated in positions and points. Couldn’t find the finish, but controlled the match and found my confidence with my boy Dennis and David helping me.

Overall great experience. Was worried i’d injure my limbs while going hard, but found myself through this experience and slowly honing my style and technique.

Thank you @fujibjj for hosting a professional and fun tournament. Great staff that is friendly and passionate.

@ibjjf PAN No-Gi 2026🥈

Another challenge chased & more lessons learned. 🏃🏾📝

Took a Solo Trip out to New Jersey to compete at another Major Tournament. I’d be lying if I said, “this one didn’t sting” because I know I’m capable of more in my performance.

Thankful to have competed and achieved a big stride along the journey. Can’t wait for the next one.

The Sting. 😅

Moved to #3 in my division.

Bo came from a wedding in Boston to New Jersey to making his ibjjf tournament & “Black Belt coaching” debut. 🤣

Grateful for the all the support from everyone whether it’s on the mats, off the mats, or randomly at a tournament miles away from home.

Post tournament vibes.

Note to Self: *Take more photos*

Brought some Major Hardware, home.

Until next time.

One stripe closer to the goal. Jiu Jitsu = Life. It teachers you to train constantly, battle through challenges and every person’s path is different. Some days you’re unstoppable and other days you’re getting your ass kicked by a younger monster blue belt. The lessons are worth the pain and the prizes are awarded with little pieces of tape, blood, sweat and sore muscles. Trust the process, Don’t quit and let God guide your journey.
