We didn’t hike as many miles as we usually did on this day and stayed at the cutest place in La Fouly! You only live once, book the trip & have some amazing experiences! ✈️

Tour Du Mont Blanc: Day 4
Courmayeur > Bonatti
📍10.42 mi. | ascent 4,868 ft | descent 3,296 ft

This was a lot of elevation gain + I remember it being a very humid morning. This was an incredible view day. I remember seeing a lot of butterfly’s, pretty wild flowers, and mtn views.

If you enjoy being in the mountains you need to put the ‘TMB’ on your list! Save this for your trip 😜

Tour Du Mont Blanc: Day 3- finally got my sunrise ☀️

This was the longest day we had + we finally made it to Italy! We saw lots of cows, stoped at a farm & saw the cheese making process and due to climbing down from a ⛰️ hut we descended a lot of elevation 😳

Day 9 🥾
Refuge de la Flegere ➡️ Chamonix
📍3.5 Miles | ⛰️1115 ft Ascent | ⬇️ 682 ft Decent

This morning we woke up in our last mountain hut on our last day. It was definitely bittersweet—I was ready for a day off my feet, but I wasn't ready for this adventure to be over.

We ate our last mountain brekkie, packed up, lathered on the sunscreen, and set off on what was supposed to be an easy 3.5-mile hike with very little elevation. Well... after about 1,000 feet of climbing, I might disagree with that description 😂. We wandered through the trees, along the mountainside, and eventually through a ski area before making one last stop to watch paragliders launch themselves off the mountain and soar through the sky.

We wrapped up our Tour du Mont Blanc with a gondola ride down into Chamonix, where we celebrated with a group lunch and a few drinks before catching a bus to Annecy, France. We have one more day of exploring before heading back to reality.

I'm truly at a loss for words. This was the trip of a lifetime, filled with incredible views, unforgettable people, and memories I'll carry with me forever. I can't thank @wanderwithkt enough for putting this adventure together.

Day 4 🥾
Day Hike - Courmayeur ➡️ Bonatti
📍10.14 Miles | ⛰️4721 ft Ascent | ⬇️ 3196 ft Decent

Since we were staying in the same accommodations for a second night, everyone had the choice to either rest or head out on an optional day hike. While some took the well-earned rest day, I couldn't pass up the chance to check off a few more TMB miles—especially knowing I could leave my full pack behind and only carry the essentials. I figured a lighter pack would make for an easier hike... I couldn't have been more wrong.

Today's hike started with a ton of elevation gain over a very short distance, but once we reached the ridge, we were rewarded with incredible views of Mont Blanc from the Italian side. Along the way, @jose_labouret shared the history of the disputed border between Italy and France and the long-standing controversy over where the summit of Mont Blanc actually lies.

After reaching the end of the ridge, we made a quick descent, stopped so I could dance on the pillar at the bottom, and even squeezed in a snowball fight before continuing on to the Bonatti Hut, where we caught a bus back to Courmayeur.

After getting cleaned up, we spent the evening exploring town. We grabbed drinks (which, in Italy, apparently come with complimentary charcuterie at every round—a tradition I can definitely get behind!) and wandered through the shops. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I still couldn't find a pair of sunglasses for under $150. When I asked our waitress where I might find a cheap pair, she just laughed and said, "Cheap and Courmayeur don't go together." 😂 Just my luck.

Day 1: Tour du Mont Blanc ⛰️
Date: June 30th

Les Houches ➡️ Les Contamines
🥾9.3 miles | 4,491 ft ascent 2,566 ft descent.

We started by hiking down from our Refugio and over to a cable car in Les Houches (we took the Bellevue Cable Car up) to start. We had lunch at a lovely spot and then hiked all the way down to this adorable village that had a cute place we could get cold drinks & treats.
I had to get a cold cola + blueberry ice cream 🍦

Day 2 🥾
Les Contamines ➡️Refugio de La Croix du bonhomme
📍8.7 miles | ⛰️ 4,701 ft ascent | ⬇️ 467 ft descent

After a comfortable night in a hotel, we wandered through town, passed a church, and started climbing... and climbing... and climbing. Today's objective was simple: keep going uphill until there wasn't any uphill left. Thank god there were some of my favorite things, rushing waterfalls, bridges, and incredible mountain views.

The weather cooperated through most of the morning, but as we packed up lunch, dark clouds started rolling in. Before long, the rain arrived. I tossed off my pack, threw on my rain jacket, and we pushed toward a tiny mountain hut for shelter. That's where I learned an important lesson: a rain jacket is only half the battle. With the wind beating against my soaking wet legs, I made a note that rain pants have officially earned a permanent spot on my packing list.

With "only 30 minutes left", we push on and in the process, the skies cleared and our refuge came into view with the backdrop of a lifetime.

Unfortunately, that was also the moment I realized my sunglasses had disappeared somewhere along the trail while I was scrambling to put on my rain jacket. They were long gone by then. Oh well... a hat, some squinting, and hopefully a replacement pair somewhere along the trail will have to do.

Tonight's stay at Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme was unlike anywhere we've stayed before. Packs are left downstairs, sleeping bag liners are required, showers cost extra, and electrical outlets are a rare luxury. Instead, the evening is about gathering around long picnic tables for a family-style dinner, swapping stories with hikers from around the world, and, if you still have any energy left, playing one of the board games on the shelves. Most of us, though, were simply too exhausted.

Two days down, and a week to go.
