In collaboration with @zoe.troy, @elfatihatem and @wanzics we documented the making of this gugu from the felling of the tree to the carving of the body to the tuning of its ‘two voices’ in Bangasu, WES in 2021-2022 for @britishmuseum ‘s Endangered Material Knowledge Program @emkp.bm. It traveled by truck to Juba last year and now it gets use by visiting musicians. More on our project and the documentation of the process of making a gugu coming soon! #southsudan
