An ode to my Tunis *Airbnb.

*I use the term Airbnb generically. Airbnb is on the BDS list for profiteering off illegal settlements and other problematic practices.

And yes, that’s me in the last slide.

These giant lily pads have come back from the brink of extinction 🌱

#EuronewsGreen 📸 by @waqonthewildside

Back in 2006, the Victoria cruziana - which is native to Paraguay- were declared endangered and shortly after they disappeared completely, presumed extinct.

They had disappeared from their native waterways due to dredging and over-tourism.

For a long time, the only way to see these giant lily pads was to visit botanical gardens like this in Florida.

However in 2018, the Victoria cruziana started popping up in the Paraguay river just 25km north of Asunción, the nation’s capital.

Since their return, these floral behemoths have bloomed in larger numbers every season.

Good afternoon! It’s Deb @dwazi_2 , here with @jjcommunity and our theme for today: Weeks Best
Thank you ,Josh , for hosting our Sunday theme !✨✨
This stunning image was submitted by @waqonthewildside for our Josh Johnson and Kevin Kuster forum. Please go by Waqar’s awesome gallery and show some #jj love! ❤️
Tag jj_forum_3776 and don’t forget your 1,2,3’s…Much Love, Deb😘

JJ explained:
Are you new to the community? It’s not as confusing as it seems at first. Hear’s the deal… JJ community is a place to share your pictures with over a half a million and find talented photographers to follow and be inspired by each day!
Every day , a post is made to announce the theme of the day with a hashtag that is to be used on your pictures that you share with us. Tag your picture that fits the theme of the day and prepare to be inspired by all the awesome pictures you see on the tag! Pictures that you’ve already taken are accepted ; however , we encourage you to #justgoshoot and be inspired by your day!
The @jj_editors and I will stroll through the tag and feature our favorite pictures during the day. We are all about keeping things simple ; however , in the spirit of our motto , “ Create to Connect” , we ask that for every 1 picture you enter that you connect on 2 pictures and like 3 pictures. That’s our 1,2,3… rule!
Enjoy interacting with our #jj family and I’ll see you back in a few! Deb😘
