POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sadly, I’ve experienced all of these things. Which ones hit? Which ones missed? And are there any we need to add to the mix?

Me when I hear “I want a single tear” from a director on set LOL

LUCKILY, I did prep & managed without having to use substitution or the method. Thank God for @warnerloughlin & her technique 🙏

2015 on this day the Lord looked down on me & said Vanard, I’m going to show you you are stronger than you think you are… I’m going to call home 1 of my most precious angels & leave you on your own down here o. Earth. I wa like I God I have a young son! Why have thou forsaken me! And he replied “my grace is sufficient” 😇
So I will be radio silent for the 10th, a day of rest for me & my house.
ZKaye all day everyday. She taught me what a replica of Jesus Christ looks like!!
Continue to rest in peace Momma, you left me in good hands down here. @chondapierce @sherrieshepherd

I never in 1 million years thought I would be back doing this. But I’ve never felt better about anything in my whole life. I was made to do this. Life couldn’t be better!

😱 ANXIETY
⭑ For The Actor’s Mind

🔍 We all know what ANXIETY means. As actors, we are very familiar. But, do we know how to cast ANXIETY when performing? In this reel, Cody tells us! Instead of “resisting” anxiety, use it! In said scene, where is the character anxious? Find that drive and allow those nerves to play! They’re just looking for somewhere to go!

🦸‍♂️ “if you resist it will persist” - Warner Loughlin @warnerloughlin

First script i ever read. @thugjitsumaster and I thought we was hollyhood ready and we were trash😭 @linoeding was teaching us its levels!! Later my coach @warnerloughlin randomly have me read the same script in our first one on one. We trained "Hout" opposite of Alonzo (Denzel). Realizing Denzel brought life to that role, and acting along side of him is more difficult than mimicking him. We used human based emotions to become the character. Same stript, 10 years later, and waaaaaay different result. Moral of the story none of us will ever act, sound or be like Denzel! Like Ever! Get coaching if you serious about acting. Winging it only takes you so far.

Acting has been a journey for me since I got started at age 5 and started auditioning for TV/film not too long after that.

While I trust my own process which was slowly tweaked over five years by my coach Jake Harders formerly of @cssdlondon in recent years it became slightly self destructive.

I listened to a great interview with the beautiful inside and out Emma Watson recently on my favorite podcast by the amazing @jayshetty. In this three hour conversation she talked about how acting had become self destructive for her in terms of keeping her stuck in the past. I listened to this interview three times because I related to almost every thing she said spending a lifetime performing and creating.

So, I reached out to my friend @warnerloughlin who I have interviewed multiple times about her incredible work as an acting trainer and coach to the likes of Amy Adams and Ryan Reynolds. She quickly linked me with a coach at her studio who I am so excited to work with I can hardly stand it. I love the Warner Loughlin Studio who truly supports their actors and friends. That is because the owner is the real deal.

I can’t wait to make acting my happy spot again like it was when I was five and sang and danced to all my favorite Shirley Temple tunes. Acting is such a beautiful craft that I have loved since childhood but I want to pursue it in a healthy, more imaginative way.

August ended in an awesome way, reliving my teen years with my teen and her best girls for her early 14th celebration, as @cyndilauper brought the full on fun, artistry, nostalgia, storytelling, joy on my girl’s face, happiness in my heart, and farewell message to “take care of one another (because) we’re a community of humans you know.” Grateful beyond words for how Mack’s girls take care of one another, for their super special community, and for moments this month that grounded us in ours❤️ #timeaftertime #girlsjustwannahavefun #takecareofoneanother #humansandlizards
