September 11, 2001.

A day that changed our nation forever.

Today we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who ran toward danger, and recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

May we never forget those who never came home, the families who carry their memory, and the first responders, service members, and Americans whose lives were forever changed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Every year on this day, I share this video again.

This was Marky’s first national viral video. Millions of people saw a little boy “wrestling” Superman. What they didn’t see was everything that came before and after.

They didn’t see the endless bandage changes.
They didn’t see the wounds.
They didn’t see the pain he carried every single day.

What they did see was joy.

The man behind Superman was a real Navy SEAL, but for a few precious moments, he wasn’t there to be a hero—he was there to let a little boy who had fought battles far greater than most of us will ever know feel strong.

Look at Marky’s face. That smile wasn’t staged. It wasn’t forced. It was pure, uninhibited joy.

That smile is why I keep sharing this video. Not because it went viral, but because it reminds me that even in a life marked by unimaginable pain, there were moments where suffering gave way to laughter.

For a few minutes, epidermolysis bullosa didn’t define him.
He was just Marky.
A little boy taking down Superman.

And somehow… I think Superman walked away knowing he had met the stronger one.

❤️ Forever my hero.
