Nothing hotter than an otter! 🦦🌊

The Pebble Beach Scholars took team building to the coast with Adventures by the Sea, strengthening connections, building confidence, and discovering what’s possible when we step outside our comfort zones—and do it together.

A beautiful day by the sea filled with teamwork, laughter, leadership, and a little Monterey Bay magic. 💙

Does Rhythm Improve Decision-Making?

Most coaches think rhythm is about movement.

I think it may be about decision-making.

The brain is a prediction machine.

Every pass, swing, tackle, shot, or conversation requires us to anticipate what happens next.

Rhythm helps organize that process.

When the nervous system locks into a rhythm, movement becomes more automatic. Less energy is spent consciously controlling the body, leaving more attention available for awareness, anticipation, and decision-making.

Think about the athletes who always seem to have more time.

The quarterback who feels pressure before it arrives.

The midfielder who sees the next pass early.

The hitter who appears calm against velocity.

Often, they’re not moving faster.

They’re processing sooner.

Rhythm may be one of the tools that gets them there.

This is why we integrate:
• Music
• Trampoline work
• Oscillatory loading
• Walking
• Vibration
• Breath cadence

Not simply as warm-ups.

As state-setting interventions.

The goal isn’t just to prepare the muscles.

The goal is to organize the nervous system.

Because better decisions rarely start with more information.

They often start with better timing.

Strength creates capacity.

Rhythm determines when and how that capacity is expressed.

That’s what Memorial Day is supposed to look like.

A Marine, his wife in physical therapy, a football player from Salinas High School, and a college basketball player from California State University, Monterey Bay all sharing the same suffering, effort, stories, and purpose.

The Murph becomes bigger than the workout when the tradition gets transferred forward instead of just observed. The pull-ups, miles, and fatigue are part of it, but the real value is younger athletes seeing firsthand what service, sacrifice, community, and responsibility look like in real life.

That’s culture building.
Not through speeches — through shared experience.

✨ Celebrating our SHTM students at the NEWH Awards Reception ✨

Our students had an incredible evening at the historic Palace Theater in San Francisco, where seven of our SHTM students were awarded NEWH scholarships totaling $37,000 👏🎉

We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and passion for the hospitality industry. Moments like these highlight the impact of their commitment and the bright futures ahead.

A big thank you to Dr. Angel Gonzalez for being there to support and celebrate our students on such a special night!

Reaching fouls aren’t a discipline issue.
They’re a positioning failure.

If you can’t hold torso angle at depth—
you reach.

If your feet can’t stabilize under load—
you grab.

So we train it.

ISO before GO.
Load the depth.
Own the position.

Now defense becomes controlled, repeatable, and clean.

No reaching fouls next season.

DM TRAIN to get in the system.

A day in the life of a Pebble Beach Scholar ⛳️✨

We had the amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes of the 2026 AT&T tournament setup and learn what it really takes to bring this iconic event to life.
From volunteer planning and event access to food waste initiatives, menu creation, and all the details in between—such an eye-opening experience!
And let’s be honest… the views don’t hurt either 😍

Huge thank you to the incredible Pebble Beach team for hosting us: Jenna Fletcher, Jeff Wallace, and Kristopher Bartlett! 🙌
