Justice Jam Artist Spotlight: McCrary Sisters

Nashville’s own gospel powerhouse, the McCrary Sisters carry a musical bloodline that runs deep: daughters of Rev. Sam McCrary, a founding member of the legendary Fairfield Four, sisters Ann, Deborah, Regina, and Alfreda grew up steeped in gospel before forging their own path as one of Music City’s most beloved harmony groups. Between them they’ve backed Bob Dylan, served as the house band for the Americana
Music Honors & Awards, and lent their voices to records by Carrie Underwood, Margo Price, and Allison Russell. Since forming in 2010, the sisters have released five albums, including Our Journey, All the Way, Let’s Go, Live, and A Very McCrary Christmas. In 2025, the Americana Music Association and the National Museum of African American Music honored them with the Legacy of Americana Lifetime Achievement Award — a fitting tribute to a family whose voices have shaped American gospel and roots music
for generations.

Several members of our community recently gathered to celebrate Washington Innocence Project’s (WashIP) 12th Annual Stand for Innocence fundraiser. WashIP provides free investigative and legal services to people who maintain their factual innocence, working to uncover the truth and help innocent people return home to their families and communities.

2L Raj Deol and 3L Rafi Khan joined the celebration to honor Professor Melissa Lee and Professor Jessica Levin, who were recognized as Catalysts of Change for their contributions to advancing justice.

Congratulations to Professors Lee and Levin on this well-deserved recognition!
