My latest work for Brew Watches: the Metric Chrono Taxi.

I had a great time photographing this one. Yellow is one of my favorite colors, so this watch was right up my alley. The black and yellow dial and checkerboard details made it especially fun to work with.

The Majetek isn’t just a pilotwatch, it’s an innovation statement by Longines, who invented the rotating bezel in the 1920s and also the flyback complication. This set is a little tribute to the golden early years of aviation ✈️

👉Two months with the @laventurewatches Marine Type 3, including a summer holiday, and I think I like it even more now than when I first put it on the wrist.

There were a few things I wondered about before owning it. The unusual proportions, that huge bezel and, perhaps most of all, the plexiglass crystal. Would it pick up scratches every time I looked at it?

🤔Turns out, no. After two months of proper wear it’s standing up remarkably well and the plexiglass simply hasn’t been an issue.

At 38mm and made from Grade 23 titanium, it’s incredibly comfortable, helped by the super-soft FKM rubber straps. It’s one of those watches you can put on in the morning and almost forget you’re wearing.

Until the lume catches you out.😳

The entire dial is made from solid Super-LumiNova and it’s outstanding. Walk indoors after being outside in bright sunshine and suddenly you look down to find the whole dial glowing. Even after two months, it still catches me out.

And then there’s the caseback. We love the attention to detail here. Clément Gaud’s name engraved into the back, the specifications picked out around the edge and that stunning Laventure octopus sitting proudly in the centre. It’s a shame you don’t see it when the watch is on the wrist, because it’s one of our favourite details on the whole watch.

I’m also still enjoying those slightly odd proportions. The small dial surrounded by that massive engraved bezel shouldn’t really work, but on the wrist it does. It feels less like a conventional dive watch and more like the marine navigation instrument that inspired Clément’s design.

☀️A summer holiday is usually a pretty good test of whether a watch becomes something you actually wear or something you’re overly precious about.

The Marine Type 3 definitely falls into the first camp.

Two months in: comfortable, distinctive, tougher than I expected and with some of the best lume in my collection.

So here it is- the Yum Cha.
Aside from the obvious- after all, you can’t take your eyes off the dial- I really like the smaller case. Now it sits on my wrist even better than previous ones. I thought I got used to that unpredictable magic which Selten brings each time they present novelties, but I was so wrong 😅 This is something different. It gives the impression of a completely new concept that seamlessly draws on the aesthetics of previous models. And it plays with the light sooo good 😊

Day 1 of the CPO daily-marathon 26 starting with the Tudor Ranger, shot on my fav spot at Altherr Berlin store. Usually I’m team DarkMode but this warm light and setting is just too good to be ignored by any personal agenda 😁

When we talked about the CPO shootings last year, the idea was to present the watches not only in a clean product way but also more moody, emotional and interesting by creating special settings and compositions in store, which is a challenging in comparison to my own studio set up.

I love challenges and so I started looking at the store from a completely different perspective - where and how to take certain photos, and what items could be used as props.

And like every creative process three spots came out as a proper place to capture all those nice cpo watches. If you’ve been following my recent posts, you’ve surely noticed that many settings are similar or repeated, though always slightly different.

The biggest challenge? The light… as always, you’ll know if you’re in photography, especially in watch photography, which demands a good light Setting and a good eye for reflections as many watches are polished aka how do you zaratsu 😉

I’ll add some BTS shots in future (check stories) to give you more insights into my work. I hope you like it so far, we keep shooting every week and maybe we’ll turn it into a book at the end of the year. Good idea? You tell me, Fam… ✍🏼 👇🏼
