Another #nwa : Seiko “Trapezoid” Ref. 11-4250.

I’ve been searching for more 70s retro-futuristic vintage watches recently.

This one is not exactly what I was looking for, but it checks a few boxes I wanted:

silver monotone, unusual bracelet, unconventional case shape.

The whole thing feels more like a small design object than a traditional watch — especially on a small wrist.

Quiet in color.
Loud in shape.

Not the final piece I was hunting for, but definitely a good detour.

I know it’s only Weds but what‘s wrong wearing something happy on wrist.

I guess that’s the magic of Snoopy no matter how the hands spin it still looks happy. That‘s what we all need in the middle of the week.

@artimecreations - ART02 TI

Artime was co-founded by a group of six veterans of the watch industry and they are arguably the closest thing to the horological Avengers. Collectively their backgrounds span the likes of GF, Breguet, FPJ, Philippe Dufour and both AP & APRP (among others) and in many instances they served in leadership roles.

Artime had been a supplier to the industry for almost 20 years, serving multiple high-end clientele including GF and RM. Their specialty focused on decoration and hand-finishing and to this day it remains their primary source of revenue. It wasn’t until 2023 that the co-founders decided to launch a watch, borne as a passion project for the team and a showcase of their creativity and technical expertise.

Here we have the ART02 which bears a number of design elements carried over from the ART01 and ART03 that launched before it.

One of the defining elements would be the lack of a traditional mainplate. The case and movement were designed to be symbiotic, with the movement directly integrated into the case structure. There is a dramatically boxed sapphire crystal with a concave top surface that allows for a panoramic view of the movement architecture.

The movement is breathtaking, with exceptional hand-finishing that one would expect with their pedigree. But what sets this apart is the thoughtfulness to the design; it’s clear that corners have not been cut, yet there is balance and restraint. Each finishing technique elevates the respective component and fits naturally to create a cohesive visual identity.

From a technical perspective, we have a remontoir of the Reuleaux triangle variety. There are dual coaxial seconds hands, one acts as the running seconds and the other ticks every 5 seconds in sync with the remontoir. There are also two coaxial hands for the chronometric power reserve. One can set the red hand anywhere on the circular scale and the white hand, representing the remaining energy, will chase the red hand down until there is insufficient energy to engage the remontoir, stopping the movement.

Been wearing the Perception V3 for a week and I decided to change a bit of the style, and I definitely miss my Omega 30T2.

Also realised that I haven‘t post it for two months but don’t worry, it‘s still in my collection lol

The watches I wear the most are often the ones I post the least.

After meeting my new friend Zech @broadcastingwatches last week and hearing about his couple-watch hunt in Mong Kok, it reminded me of the same kind of search I went through earlier this year.

That’s probably one of my favourite parts of collecting. Sometimes we are not just looking for a reference, a dial colour, or the “right” size. Sometimes we want a small totem for a memorable moment, or for someone we want to keep close.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 in beige is that for me.

It is simple, wearable, and maybe not the loudest watch in the box — but honestly, I wear it a lot more than I post it. The 36mm case and soft beige dial just make it so easy to live with.

Some watches become content.
Some watches quietly become part of your life.

A quiet dial, a big moment.

Wearing the Selten x @watchhoandco Jui today to celebrate it being in the running for this year’s @gphg_official Challenge Award.

And honestly, it feels right.

Jui has always felt like a watch made for the wrist, and the dial does all the talking.

Big congrats to @seltenwatch and @watchhoandco — this feels like a proper community moment.

Outfit matching is half the fun.

Tissot Cal. 27 on the Delugs Sand Chevre Slim Strap.

Beige top, dark brown pants, porcelain white dial, and a sand-colored strap — this is exactly the kind of soft neutral pairing I love.

The strap sits right between the outfit and the watch: warm enough to connect with the brown tones, light enough to echo the beige top, and subtle enough to let that porcelain dial stay the focus.

Then the bold Roman numerals and blued hands add just the right amount of contrast.

Quiet, vintage, and very wearable.

Do you match your straps to your outfits too?

#nwa Tissot Non-Magnetic Cal. 27.

I really need someone to confiscate my fingers before I click another “Pay” button… but honestly, how was I supposed to say no to this?

Porcelain dial, still clean and crack-free after all these years. Stepped bezel. Super wearable vintage size. And then there are all the charming little details: the unusually bold Roman numerals, the quirky shape of the blued hands, and the small seconds that gives the whole dial so much character.

I paired it with @delugs Sand Chevre Slim Strap, and I love how the warm neutral tone softens the look without taking attention away from the dial.

This is exactly the kind of watch that makes me say “I’m done buying for a while” while already knowing that’s a lie.

No regrets. Probably.

Would you have passed on this?

Super hot Sunday, but still needed a little elegance.

Cartier Tank Américaine WSTA0017.

There’s something about a Tank that makes even the simplest hot-weather outfit feel a bit more considered. The polished case catches the sun beautifully, the Roman numerals keep it classic, and the black strap adds just enough contrast without trying too hard.

Not exactly a “beat the heat” watch, but definitely a “look composed in the heat” watch.

Sunday elegance, Cartier style.

Black tie. White tie.

My Cartier black-and-white duo:

Cartier Santos-Dumont Black Lacquer WSSA0046
Cartier Tank Américaine WSTA0017

Two watches that speak the same language without saying the same thing.

The Santos-Dumont brings the darker side of Cartier — glossy, graphic, architectural.

The Tank Américaine is the counterpoint — elongated, elegant, and unmistakably classic.

One black dial. One white dial.
Both framed by Roman numerals, blue cabochons, and that Cartier red backdrop.

A small collection within the collection.
