Finally got to see the Bühlmann Decompression 02 in real life (shown here is the orange dial version that's limited to 20 pieces). It features the ZH-L16B Bühlmann decompression stops calculator (allowing to measure decompression stops for 17 recreational dive profiles), a twin bezel construction and even has a no-fly indicator. And with a diameter of 48.5 mm, it is equally impressive on the wrist. Movement is the Sellita SW300, retail is CHF 3,990. More on the site soon.

A bubble is never just a bubble.

Underwater, pressure changes how gases behave.

Inside the human body, it changes how they are absorbed and how they must be released.

Understanding this invisible relationship between pressure, time and the human body became the life’s work of Prof. Albert A. Bühlmann.

His research helped generations of divers go deeper and return safely.

It is also the scientific heritage behind our watches.

PRESSURE CHANGES EVERYTHING

An unusual pairing, but somehow it works. The @waltham_watches Waltham Field & Marine Panda brings vintage military DNA and serious watchmaking history, while the panda @nike Jordan’s bring a completely different kind of iconography. Black, white, heritage, and just enough attitude to tie it all together.

What makes the Waltham even more interesting is how I got it. This one came through @watchangels Watch Angels, where collectors help bring special projects to life, and this particular Field & Marine Panda was produced in an extremely limited quantity. That makes it feel less like something pulled from a catalog and more like a piece you had to be there for.

Limited-run Waltham. Panda Jordans. Not the most obvious combination — but that’s probably why I like it.

Let me know in the comments if you like the shoes or the watch more!

Lume use on the Buhlmann Decompression 02 is well arranged and generously applied, and I love the lume design on the bezel in particular: the watch is very legible at night with all the right elements illuminated. The brightness isn’t the absolute greatest in the market, but it’s more than satisfactory even for a lume nerd like me, and longevity is excellent.

I put this watch up against some of my best lumed watches, and arguably some of the best lumed watches on the market today, and it holds up reasonably well against the @xeno_print_ag powered Christopher Ward Lumiere and Bel Canto Lumiere, the Rolex Yachtmaster Ti, and the MB&F MAD1S Yinka Ilori.

If you’re a lume nerd like me, you’ll be satisfied with this one.
