Is Serica Sunday a thing? If not… I think it should be! 👀 Spent some time today with the Serica 6190 Commando, this time paired with the beautiful Caldera calfskin from @veblenist . I honestly think it makes that black enamel dial POP! I often wear this watch on the Bonklip or Serica’s Sport Strap, but lately I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with different combinations behind the scenes. Every time I try something new, I’m reminded just how ridiculously versatile this watch is. The more time I spend with the 6190, the more I appreciate just how much Serica got right. The Serica 6190 Commando is one of those pieces that doesn’t shout for attention… but somehow ends up getting it anyway. What do you get when the sun’s out and a watch nerd gets ideas? Switched things up with the Serica 6190 Commando today and finally went down the strap rabbit hole properly… Starting strong with the Stone Grey canvas from @rsmwatchstrap — and I’ve got to say, this combo caught me off guard in the best way. The tone works perfectly with the brushed steel, but the real surprise? It actually fits with the Serica endlinks 👀 That clean, almost “integrated” look that Serica does so well is still there… just with a bit more texture and a slightly more relaxed feel. It’s giving tool watch… but the kind that knows how to take a day off. Safe to say this won’t be the last combo I try!! Apparently, this is what “switching off” looks like for me. No plans. No rushing about. Just me, a notebook, and the Serica 6190 on its Sport strap (which, by the way, is dangerously comfortable). There’s something about this watch that fits slower days. Brushed steel, clean dial, no unnecessary drama. It just quietly gets on with it - which is more than I can say for my thoughts when I start scribbling ideas down. Most of today’s notes are harmless. Photography bits. Collection thoughts. A few things I’m getting excited about. The Serica 6190 Commando is one of those watches that has been getting dangerous amounts of wrist time in the background of my photography and life itself. I find it’s 37mm case and slim 10.4mm thickness to be perfect dimensions for this thing to become a favourite. Up until now, I’ve rocked the Serica on the Bonklip bracelet which has been a blast at showing it off as a rugged yet refined tool each. So recently I decided to get my hands on their Sport Strap which takes comfort to a different planet 🪐!! As soon as I saw the combo on my wrist I had the endlinks ordered to complete the elegant look that Serica seems to nail. With these little upgrades to the watch, Serica have risen up to be one of my all time favourite brands… and now I’m craving more of their straps or even another bracelet 😉 .(more than welcome to hook me up Serica 🤪😂) This watch has sparked a desire for me to try even more vintage style watches!! Well — pinch me. This is a proper milestone: the first time a brand has sent me a watch to shoot! Meet the Nomos Metro Power Reserve — a tiny pocket of joy on the wrist. I’ve been wearing this quietly behind the scenes for a few days and I’ll be honest — it’s completely won me over. The subtle pops of colour on the dial stop it from taking itself too seriously, and instead give it this really creative, almost playful energy. And that manual-wind movement… yeah, I’m guilty of flipping it over far more than necessary. NOMOS really know how to make a calibre that’s as enjoyable to look at as it is to use. At this rate, a NOMOS permanently joining the collection feels less like a possibility and more like an inevitability. My wallet is already nervous. It’s no secret that I wear my Speedmaster… a lot. It’s my favourite watch in the collection, so naturally it spends half its life pretending it’s a field watch with my other tools. When I take the Speedy out, the strap usually gets swapped. Starting the week with the Tudor Black Bay 54 — still my only dive watch, and somehow it keeps proving that’s all I need. There’s a real vintage charm to this one that I can’t get enough of. The warm tones, the softer details, the way it wears… it feels like a watch that’s already lived a life, even when it’s fresh on the wrist. Modern where it matters, old-school where it counts.
