I took this #longexposure of Mullet Broook Falls while hiking around in the #catskills in #newyork this week. This #waterfall still had some solid flow for deep into Autumn. The multiple threads of the cascading water created a nice pattern, dappled in places by shadows of the surrounding trees. Leaves were scattered around the rocks giving this landscape a bit of fall flavor. #waterfalls

One of my New York bucket list shots. Luckily everyone was on the other side of the mountain at Kaaterskill Falls so I had the place all to myself for a couple hours.

Awosting Falls | Minnewaska State Park Preserve

A beautiful waterfall, colorful fall foliage, and a great spot for an adventure!

📍 Parking tip: Get there early, especially during peak fall foliage! We arrived too late and had to park at the Peter’s Kill lot, making for a much longer walk up the carriage road.

🥾 Walking distance: About 1.1 miles round trip from the main Lake Minnewaska parking lot. The carriage road is jogger friendly.

🎟️ Entrance fee: $10 per car.

Definitely worth the visit, but plan ahead if you want a shorter walk with little ones! 🤎

Fitzgerald Falls in New York today in the rain. I must say this place far exceeded my expectations, especially in the heavy rains. This 30 foot waterfall is along the Appalachian Trail and despite the extremely dreary weather the fall foliage and scenery was amazing. Above the waterfall was awesome with the rocks and strwam complete with the "AT Spa" according to the sign. There was even a smaller bonus waterfall before you reached Fitzgerald Falls, which I must admit I thought was Fitzgerald Falls which had me thinking "this is it?". Fortunately I decided to go ahead a little further and found the real one. #hikingadventures #hiking #waterfalls #fallcolors🍁🍂 #getoutside

Swirling Green Pools

If you are ever near, you must go to Watkins Glen State Park. Nature’s stair master, sure got my steps in. The beauty will floor you. If ot is raining still go, everything is more vibrant.

Nowhere is autumn more spectacular than in New York and New England. One of the best places to see changing foliage is mixed with waters across many of New York state’s park – many of which offers a wide variety of scenery in a very compact space. Here a waterfall in an often overlooked state park that proved to be immensely rich in scenery. Photographed last year during a terrific photography workshop called Canyons of the East, organized by @jkputnamphoto The sites were outstanding, featuring an enormous range of small to large waterfalls and glacial canyons, such as this one.
