What IF it turned out better than expected…?

And honestly, it already did. LLF has taught me more in 5 years than I could have ever learned from books. Having little experience in the non-profit sector, not knowing what I was doing in the beginning - but by continuously trying, making mistakes, learning, staying motivated, connecting with others, inspiring each other and building trust and teamwork, I feel like I’m growing individually as a professional but also with LLF as an organisation. I couldn’t be more grateful for the effort that everyone contributes to our cause💛

Stepping out of your comfort zone is the way to grow🫶🏼

~ PRAYER AND MEDITATION CIRCLE FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ~

If you feel to join us, we are creating the space for a prayer and meditation circle for the pain inflicted on our brothers and sisters in the Middle East during this time. Please join us in sending positive energy, light, prayers, and healing to everyone who is going through deep suffering.

When our hands are tied, our hearts can still remain open.

We are sending you all love, and hope to see you all soon.

“Children aren’t colouring books. You do not get to fill them with your favourite colours.”
- Khaled Hosseini

Many parents (unknowingly) exert psychological control onto their children’s lives by projecting their own dreams and opinions whilst disregarding the child’s. Specifically in Eastern cultures, parents tend to associate feelings of self-worth based on their child’s performances. This explains why children, particularly in the East, feel pressured into certain industries and tend to be critiqued based on their achievements and failures.

At Little Trees Nurtury we find the arts just as important to the child’s early development as languages and mathematics. We will provide the children with creative exercises as seen in this reel.

Thank you M. Amanah Rajab for sharing your insights on the Foundations of Development And Learning In Early Childhood.

Leaving Sri Lanka after this unforgettable work trip with a full heart💛 I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work on our projects in such a beautiful country, that feels like a home away from home. Nothing is more exciting than meeting kindred spirits, with the same passion to help others and who want to make a positive impact in this world 🌎 To the friends that turned into family, this is not a goodbye, but see you soon!🫶

Dreams don’t turn into reality overnight. It requires dedication, hard work, focus and most of all… stepping out of your comfort zone! I have experienced stage fright ever since I was little during school presentations or my piano performances. I thought it was something in my DNA, something I was just not capable of doing. But now as co-founder of @littleleadersfoundation , I want to share my passion with others, even though that means overcoming that hurdle by being vulnerable and standing in front of a crowd. Together with my partner in crime @kintanvanleeuwen , there is no fear that I cannot overcome and there couldn’t be a better reason why💛

During our fundraiser on 13th of August, we raised money for Little Trees Nurtury. Being co-founder of a nonprofit, building a school, producing our first merchandise and making a true change in the world, extends my wildest dreams… and this is just the beginning🌎🙌🏼

Firstly, want to thank all of our volunteers, artists, visitors and @wibar_leiden that made yesterday a day to be remembered! The emotions and experiences are still sinking in but we are already prepping for our next adventure: Visiting Sri Lanka and our projects this September! 🇱🇰💛
