A bittersweet but exciting new chapter 🤍

After so many years of calling the Outer Banks home, my parents are officially making the move to Greenville — and while we’re definitely going to miss the friends, familiar places, and beautiful scenery that made the OBX so special, we are SO excited to have them closer. 🥹

The Outer Banks holds so many memories for our family. We moved there from Texas in 2013, and it became the backdrop for so many seasons of my life — high school at Manteo, working at Surf & Spoon, college, teaching, starting AlySwim, and countless memories with family and friends.

It’s definitely hard to leave a place that has been such a big part of our story, but there’s also something really exciting about getting to start a new chapter somewhere else.

More family dinners, more time together, closer to our church, a little more country living… and most importantly, being close for the arrival of our newest family member in December. 🤍

Here’s to new adventures, new memories, and having my parents just a little closer. 🌊➡️🌾✨

Let’s try Waveriders Coffee and Deli (@waveridersobx) in Nags Head, NC!

This cafe is serving up unique drinks in a funky, cool atmosphere. Have a seat on a plush chair, or sit outside on the patio!

Waveriders has drink specials, so I stopped by to try some of their recent drinks:

🍌 Banana Pudding Latte - Banana and shortbread syrup with a caramel drizzle; a little sweet (8/10)

🍵 Treasure Island Matcha - Pistachio and vanilla bean syrup (7/10).

They also offer breakfast and lunch if you want to grab a bite to eat!

Spent the last week in paradise and tried a bunch of new and loved spots while there! 🏖️

First stop upon arriving in OBX - @ashleys_espresso_parlour !
This is my first time trying this shop, but I’ve heard many good things so I was excited to try. Shop itself was cozy and chill. I grabbed an iced fruity pebbles latte (lavender white mocha) and it was delish! Not too sweet, flavor spot on. The red velvet muffin I grabbed was soo good. Great start to the trip!

Next, we stopped into a favorite of ours - @waveridersobx !
I love this spot. Market, deli, AND coffee shop. I grabbed an iced banana pudding latte which was so good and was made with their shortbread + banana syrups. Now, the bagels in NC are not like home, but I appreciate a good breakfast sammie regardless. Their bud (sausage, egg, cheese) with Cajun mayo is just delish. A must get when in town!

The next morning we were in Duck and wanted to check out @duckscottage ! The cottage is so cute; cozy, bookish, and in a super cute shopping area. I grabbed an iced bumbleberry latte. Good flavor overall, but a little too sweet for me.

Stopped into @shorecoffeeroasters ! Wowww I loved this place. The vibes are so beachy and welcoming. So much room for sitting and yapping over coffee. I grabbed an iced bourbon vanilla latte. Such good espresso, soft vanilla flavor. Big fan, will definitely be back! And by be back, I mean during this trip too lol I returned later in the week and got an iced brown butter caramel latte that was amazing - best cup of the trip! ✨

We drove up the coast to Corolla to try a stop that’s been on my list since it opened - @bananadogcafe 🍌 absolutely had to get their signature Dixie latte with banana cold foam (y’all know I just can’t say no to a good banana latte). Flavor was delish, and I really loved the banana milk. Sooo much better than artificial banana flavors. Worth waiting in the heat that morning!

Another stop while in Corolla - @kindcupcoffee ! Kind Cup both features local artists and drinks made with locally roasted beans. I grabbed an iced honey + lavender latte. Espresso was great, not too sweet. Grabbed
