Waves and the Wild 🌊

Summer’s close. You can see it in the light before you feel it in the air. Longer evenings, softer contrast, everything sitting a little warmer even when the coast is still cold.

I shot this on a day that didn’t feel like summer yet.

Cold, overcast, a bit unpredictable. But lately I’ve been more interested in working with what’s actually there instead of waiting for perfect conditions.

The light was soft, the ocean was moving, nothing stayed in place for long. It ended up shaping everything. Less about controlling the scene, more about responding to it.

I wanted the pieces to feel like they belonged there. Not overly styled, just existing within the landscape. Almost like they’d been left behind or caught on driftwood naturally.

Summer usually gets captured one way. Bright, warm, polished. But there’s a quieter version that shows up first in longer days and softer light.

That’s the one I keep coming back to.
