1. No. 299 (@no299blog) — Jackie has the eye. Home decor, gifts, jewelry, all curated with that vintage-meets-polished mix you can’t find anywhere else in town.

2. Togs (@togsct) — for the brands we love. Mother, Staud, Rails, Ulla Johnson, Another Tomorrow. One stop, always leave with something.

3. Nantucket Monogram (@nantucket_monogram) — personalize everything. Gifts, home, bags, all one of a kind once your initials hit it.

4. The Whitney Shop (@thewhitneyshopct) — family owned since 1947 and it shows. Registries, gifts, the kind of place that still does things right.

5. Ralph Lauren (@ralphlauren) — classics, just like it says. And they still have a few of the viral TikTok cable cardigans left.

6. Found (@found.design) — one of the best edited shops we’ve ever been to. A mix of vintage and new jewelry, accessories, and home decor.

7. The Linen Shop (@thelinenshopct) — luxury linens, monogramming, home accessories since 1974. Bed, bath, table, done beautifully.

8. Wave New Canaan (@wavestyle.shop) — we came for a pendant from Connecticut founder @thatch.jewelry and left with the perfect summer shell charm.

9. Americana Memories (@americana_memories) — vintage college pennants and sports memorabilia. The best gift for grads and alumni, full stop.

10. Consider the Cook (@considerthecook) - as home cooks and a family that loves to entertain this is our shop for everything from block print linens to cookware and serving pieces.

And … we never visit New Canaan without a stop for OG fro yo original tart for the road back to Westport and an herbal iced tea at Saisons Sucrées (@saisonssucrees). The iced tea arrives with a madeleine propped on top like a little gift. The pastries are incomparable. They just launched L’École with classes too.

A butterfly stack in honor of National Lupus Awareness day! I was diagnosed with lupus 3 years ago, which was 6 years from the onset of my initial symptoms, and it has forever changed my life. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that attacks your entire body. The symbol for the disease is a butterfly as one of the most distinctive features of the disease is a butterfly shaped rash on your face. Lupus is an incredibly difficult disease for many reasons. Each patient can experience different symptoms, despite having the same disease. There isn’t one specific test for lupus, making it harder to diagnose as doctors need to piece together the correct tests. The biggest concern with lupus is that in some cases, it can be fatal as it can attack your kidneys. Currently, there is no cure, a bigger reason why there needs to be more awareness raised about this disease as it severely impacts quality of life. Aside from the physical, systemic, issues this disease presents, it creates many obstacles in every other aspect of your life. You lose friendships as people don’t understand that you aren’t faking being sick, but faking being okay. That means still smiling and showing up for others in pain, but sometimes you can’t do it and then look flaky. You lose the ability to do things that used to be easy, like going on a walk or even doing simple chores without it wiping you out for the rest of the day. Every social obligation needs to be calculated. Is it worth the recovery? Will I recover in a day, a weekend or a week? What else do I have coming up that is more pressing or energy consuming? It reshapes your life. But it also changes how you view life. It shows you who is there for you through thick and thin, how to value the good times, celebrate small wins all day long, and focus less on the bad. It teaches you strength you never thought you had. You can have a million problems in life until you have a health problem, then you only have one. 💜🦋💜🦋 #lupus #lupuswarrior #lupusawareness
