Glitch… or feature? 🤔

It’s never been about perfection — it’s about creating a lifestyle that actually works for you.
One you can stick with without feeling deprived… so you don’t burn out or fall off.

Tbt 2 days out from Alberta Summer Naturals.

“Why do you compete?” 🤔🤔🤔

Because the hard stuff is where you become who you’re meant to be. 🧱🛠️

Pushing myself beyond what I think I’m capable of shows me time and time again that I haven’t actually reached my limits and opens my mind to how much more I can achieve. 🧠🌌

These intangible feelings and character building moments are things that no one can take away from you. 🌱

You are the main character and you get to choose to live a life you can look back on and be proud of. 🫶

Even after being a physio for 6 years and a trainer for 12 and constantly working to improve my knowledge and skills, I still battle with anxiety and imposter syndrome.

But as heavy and crippling as those thoughts may be — they do not reflect reality and they do not reflect our value.

Keep showing up. Current you is someone else’s goals 🫶

You are capable of so much MORE than you think you are. 🥹🫶
⁣
Back in 2016, I stepped on stage for my first bodybuilding competition—not knowing I had an autoimmune condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS).⁣ 🩻

I’d have random, unpredictable back and hip pain that made walking, bending, and lifting difficult.⁣ ❤️‍🩹
⁣
I felt so worthless and incapable. 😔💔
⁣
But I took a chance, and together with my first coach, and ended up placing 2nd at regionals and provincials. 🥈
⁣
Instead of going to Nationals, I moved to the UK for physio school 🏥📚 and spent years bouncing between medications 💊 and specialists, trying to manage my condition.⁣
⁣
When we finally found something that worked, I moved back to Canada—only to be put on new meds that caused excruciatingly painful vasculitis and left me unable to walk for months.⁣ 🩼🤕
⁣
After a year long recovery, I doubted I would ever compete again. But my friends convinced me to try. Together, we stepped on stage with no expectations—⁣
⁣
And all walked away with 1st place trophies.⁣ 🥇
⁣
You can’t always control what happens to you,
but you can control how you respond—and how hard you fight for the life you deserve.🖤

It has been an absolutely phenomenal year of lifting, growth & lessons. Whether it is bringing your best package to stage in a bodybuilding show, or binge eating after a night of partying, life is about enjoying your time & challenging yourself to become better, a hard balance to strike, BUT if you do… damn does it feel good when you win.
