🚨 “F THE POLICE”… BUT NOW YOU NEED A POLICE ESCORT TO ECMC⁉️ 😳😂

Everybody screaming “we don’t need police” until shots ring out… then it’s “CALL 911‼️ WHERE THE POLICE AT⁉️” 🤦🏿‍♂️😂

@lockinbuffalo x @djbandanablack

You can’t want NO police on Chippewa and then overnight delivery when something happens 😭🚔

Listen… I still got some “F the police & free the guys” in my vocabulary 😂🤷🏿‍♂️ BUT I understand we NEED police. Every officer ain’t bad, and every problem in Buffalo ain’t their fault.

We need good officers who feel supported, do their jobs, and treat people right. We can demand police accountability AND want safe streets. BOTH can be true‼️💯

BUFFALO… do we really hate the police, or do we hate BAD policing? 👀👇🏿 Let’s be honest in these comments. SHARE this and let’s talk.

🚨‼️ BUFFALO COMMON COUNCIL HAS HAD ENOUGH?! 🗣️🔥

The women of Buffalo’s Common Council are SPEAKING OUT after feeling like major decisions are being made without their knowledge or input! 👀

🏛️ WHO’S REALLY RUNNING CITY HALL?!

🤔 Is Mayor Sean Ryan doing what needs to be done, or is the Common Council being disrespected?

🗳️ Should Council members have more say, or should the Mayor be able to make these decisions?

👇 BUFFALO, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Drop your thoughts in the comments! Keep it respectful! 💯

🚨 BUFFALO, WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THESE POLICE CHASES. 🚨

I understand stolen cars are a serious problem. I understand police have a job to do, and the young people stealing cars need to be held accountable. But innocent people shouldn’t have to become collateral damage.

When a stolen-car chase turns into a high-speed pursuit through our neighborhoods and busy streets, everybody on that road can suddenly be put in danger — people going to work, parents driving with their kids, pedestrians, anybody.

There HAS to be a better answer. Technology, investigations, tracking vehicles, coordinated apprehensions — whatever the solution is, we need to have a real conversation about when a chase is worth the risk and when it isn’t.

And let me be clear: this is NOT me excusing the people stealing cars. Hold them accountable. Arrest them. Prosecute them. But the goal should also be getting everybody else home safely.

💬 BUFFALO, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Should police continue high-speed pursuits of stolen vehicles, or should Buffalo be using different methods to catch the people responsible?

Watch the video and tell me your opinion. 👇🏿

I chatted with Judge Penny Wolfgang for @wbenbuffalo today about me and my work and practice and a little about mentoring artists, arts education, orthodoxy and unorthodox media, and a LOT of @buffalosocietyofartists : the upcoming jurying and our legacy celebrating excellence in Buffalo Art (135 years!), our duty to educate and facilitate the new generations of artists in our communities, and she very kindly let me wax on a little about my work with @roycroftartisans and my view that the intersection of the times of BSA’s founding in 1891 and the companion rise of Hubbard’s Arts & Crafts are rooted in the same defiance of mass production and mechanization - and are echoed in today’s struggle with AI and digital tools and interference.

The idea of algorithmic driven “content creation” vying with human centered art for our attention is an interesting bell ringing down through the ages, and how we navigate the parallel is something to consider carefully.

We also talked briefly about @buffalobills @highmark_stadium and appreciation for the decision to intentionally include art by glorious humans in this very valuable public space.

It was a lot, but I don’t think I let my mouth get away from me. I’ll find out with the rest of you this weekend.

Catch On Target this weekend on WBEN and sister stations:
WGR AM 550 Saturday Sept 19th 6am + 630a
WBEN AM 550 Sunday Sept 20th 6a + 630

🙏🏿 I OWE THE @bflo_cc AN APOLOGY.

I can still feel like I was done wrong‼️😡 while also recognizing where I could’ve handled things differently🙏🏿🫡. Both things can be true.

As a man and a #GirlDad ❤️I believe accountability starts with looking at yourself first. So today, I’m owning my part.

At the end of the day, this is bigger than “Rashimee Wilson aka DJ Bandana Black. This is about BUFFALO. 🦬💯

We need people willing to speak up, ask the tough questions, challenge decisions, and be a voice for the residents of this city. And when people are genuinely trying to do that work, we should be willing to support them—even when we don’t agree on everything.

I’m still going to ask questions. I’m still going to speak my mind. And I’m still going to hold our local government accountable—but I can do that while holding myself accountable too.

💯 Growth requires accountability. Buffalo deserves all of us working toward something better.
