💛 Thank you, Charlotte. As we look back on this year’s Charlotte Film Festival, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who showed up, supported us, and helped make the festival possible. To the Patel Family, thank you for your incredible support and belief in what we’re building. The Charlotte Film Festival is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). We’re deeply grateful for that support and for the opportunity to continue bringing independent film and filmmakers to our community. A special thank you to Andy Print Shop for printing our wonderful festival programs and Diaries—beautiful keepsakes for our filmmakers to take home and remember their festival experience. @andyprintsstuff Thank you to @trueopt for bringing the music, and good vibes, and for helping us with our festival merchandise. To our venue partners and hotel partners, thank you for welcoming our filmmakers, audiences, and festival community with such generosity. A huge shoutout to our media partners @positivelyclt and local businesses who helped us spread the word, amplify filmmakers’ stories, and connect the festival with the Charlotte community. To our Filmmaker Experience Sponsors, thank you for helping us create an experience that goes beyond the screenings and makes our filmmakers feel truly welcomed and celebrated. And to every single person who supported the festival—whether you donated during the festival, bought a ticket, saw a movie, grabbed a concession, shared a post, told a friend, followed along, or simply showed up—we see you, and we appreciate you. ❤️ A film festival doesn’t happen without a community behind it. Thank you for being ours. 🎬✨ Until next time, Charlotte. 💛 #CharlotteFilmFestival #CharlotteNC #IndependentFilm #FilmCommunity #SupportLocalFilm

What music do we turn to when words aren’t enough? On September 1, 7th Street Concerts opens its fourth season with The Day the Music Didn’t Stop: 9/11 at 25 Years—an evening of music and firsthand reflection marking 25 years since September 11. Rev. Dr. Stuart Hoke, who was serving at Trinity Wall Street just blocks from the World Trade Center on 9/11, will share what he witnessed that day. His reflections are woven through music by J.S. Bach, Nadia Boulanger, Steve Reich, Gerald Finzi, and more, performed by some of Charlotte’s finest musicians. Reich’s connection to the story is particularly poignant: he lived just four blocks from the World Trade Center for 25 years and later transformed voices and memories of September 11 into music. Together, words and music explore grief, memory, resilience and the extraordinary ways people find connection in the darkest moments. The Day the Music Didn’t Stop: 9/11 at 25 Years Tuesday, September 1 at 7 PM St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Uptown Charlotte 🎟️ Tickets available now at 7thstreetconcerts.org

One of our favorites from this year's festival: this program that moved from Isaac to Poulenc (music that spanned 450 years!) in just 75 minutes. Echoes of Bach, with @emiferguson, Guy Fishman, and @estherjeehaeahn . 🎶

SPRING RECAP! It’s been a busy one over here under the Sweat Transfer umbrella and now it’s officially time to take a look back at the last few months and be grateful for all of the opportunities to work with so many talented artists in our community! I have had an absolute blast meeting new people, reigniting old projects with friends and making new instances, taking on new territories and techniques that feel scary and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Tonight marks the last live show of the Spring before some much needed recovery time consisting of writing new music, finishing old music and putting together the next round of complex projects that will come out this Fall. I’m sure there will be sprinkle of creativity throughout the Summer but as for now we head back into the Lab for the next round of speedruns. As always I’m honored to make music and art for everyone and love you all dearly. 🖤🖤
