Building a more affirming future for mental health care. 🏳️‍⚧️🫂

Transbefrienders had the opportunity to conduct a workshop for mental healthcare professionals from Limitless Singapore, creating space for meaningful conversations about transgender experiences, gender-affirming care, and how we can better support trans individuals in their mental health journeys.

Through sharing, learning, and open dialogue, we hope to bridge gaps in understanding and empower professionals to create safer, more inclusive spaces where trans individuals feel seen, heard, and
respected.

Because affirming care begins with learning and everyone deserves to access mental healthcare with dignity, compassion, and without fear of being misunderstood.

A heartfelt thank you to Limitless Singapore for creating space for these important conversations and for being part of the journey towards more inclusive mental healthcare. 🏳️‍⚧️

10:10 — a little reminder that there is still so much life left to live. 🌷

for the girl who was once just trying to make it through another day, look at her now — collecting little joys, laughing a little louder, loving a little deeper, and learning to embrace the life she once struggled to imagine! my journey hasn’t always been pretty, and healing hasn’t been linear. there are chapters of my life that took more strength than words could ever explain. but today, i get to be here. to smile, to grow, to make memories, to love and be loved. and for that, my heart is so full. ❤️‍🩹

through the darkest valleys, God never stopped being God. His grace met me in places i thought were beyond redemption, His love held me when i struggled to hold myself together, and His mercy reminded me that my story was never defined by my lowest moments! I am still a work in progress, but i am living proof that brokenness doesn’t have to be the end of the story ✨

if you’re reading this and life has been especially heavy lately, please be gentle with yourself. you don’t have to have everything figured out today! You don’t have to heal on anyone else’s timeline and you don’t have to earn your place in this world by being okay all the time 🥹 all you did today was make it through, i’m proud of you. please stay for the little things — the sunsets, the songs that find you at the right time, the people who make you laugh until your stomach hurts, the prayers whispered through tears, and the beautiful moments you haven’t met yet! If no one has told you lately, i’m glad you’re here. 🩶

all glory to the One who saved me, continues to redeem me, and reminds me every day that His plans for me are still unfolding! here’s to choosing life, finding joy in the little things, and discovering that there is beauty after the brokenness. one day, one prayer, one breath at a time. 🕊️

As part of our capability-building efforts for Mental Health Representatives across PAP branches, the @papsingapore Mental Health Group organised a training session conducted by @we.are.limitless over the weekend.

At the heart of this is a simple reason: we care for our residents.

Through our MPS, house visits and community engagements, we meet residents going through difficult moments. We want to better equip ourselves to support their mental health as they share their circumstances with us.

Grateful to our branch representatives who joined us. Together with further deep dives and OJT, they will progressively be equipped to serve as PAP Mental Health Ambassadors.

Thank you also to @elysawalksabout and Asher from @we.are.limitless for the honest and thoughtful sharing during our panel, moderated by @edmundtwohill .

Looking forward to our next capability-building session! 🫰🏻

Behind that joy was someone who knows what it feels to be depressed and have to drag yourself out of bed in the morning. Behind that joy was someone who hated feeling hurt and tried to numb that emotional pain through tattoos. Behind that joy was someone who used to cry herself to sleep at night and replay every negative conversation. Behind that joy was someone who once felt hopeless and had thoughts about ending her life because she thought this place would be better off without her. Behind that joy was someone who finally took a step of courage to seek help and through speaking to her therapist, started realising life is worth living. Behind that joy was someone who re-surrendered her life to Christ and now knows that there is hope because Jesus is hope! Behind that joy is someone that now lives her life for Christ and has discovered people who truly cares for her and accepts her for who she is( even though no one accepts who you are except Christ❤️) PS: if you ever need to seek help, I’ve linked a few mental health resources you can turn to❤️💙 You are worth it because you are a child of God🤍🤍✝️ #suicidemonthawareness #mentalhealthawareness

“Rather than a single defining moment, my commitment to this work has deepened through witnessing the small but meaningful changes in the youths I work with. I've seen them begin to speak to themselves with a little more compassion, become more willing to share what they are going through with someone they trust, or slowly start believing that they deserve support.

These may seem like small shifts, but I have learnt that these are often more sustainable than making dramatic adjustments to their lives. They remind me that even when progress feels slow, it is still taking a meaningful step in the right direction.

Working with youths has also taught me that no one ever feels completely ready for change. Fear, uncertainty, and hesitation are natural parts of the process. Rather than pushing for change, I recognised that part of my role was to gently support and encourage the changes that would help youths move towards the life they hoped for, while also being there for them amidst the discomfort that often comes with taking those first steps.

The courage to begin again isn't always feeling completely unafraid but trusting that you would be able to handle and get through what may come your way with this change.”
