Women, youโ€™ve been asking, and itโ€™s finally here. As we enter into a season of reaching for more joy, stillness, connection, and space, we open the doors to Cohort 7 of our Women & Wolves Immersive Program, an 8-week journey of transformation and empowerment, guided by the wisdom of wolves.ย  Through seven weeks of stories, rituals, and heartfelt connection, youโ€™ll be invited to align with your inner rhythm and the wild teachings of the wolves. The journey culminates in a sacred day-long retreat on the land at Wolf Connection Sanctuary, walking beside the wolves, coming together with your pack in presence, reflecting in stillness, and gathering in firelight. Led by longtime pack members and therapeutic facilitators, Micha Thomas and Laurie Cousins. โ€จVirtual Circles begin Wednesdays, January 28 - March 11. Greetings from A Human Sanctuary!! Next week will officially be the one year anniversary of launching our group practice. We have been busy organizing behind the scenes, internally and externally, and are excited to begin sharing more widely about our services, coursework, and upcoming workshops. The recent flood and coverage around this event was definitely a push for us to embrace the visibility in our specialization around eco-resiliency and trauma stewardship. It was not lost on us that in two short weeks we will be facilitating a course in Resiliency and Acceptance in the Face of Collapse. In times of great uncertainty, it feels bold but essential to lean into the natural momentum when the calling arises. The intention of our sharing is to be an island of coherence in a sea of collective frenzy, to ultimately bring about further connection, curiosity, and compassion. Stay tuned to learn more about eco-resiliency, trauma healing, grief work, and for exercises that center our inherent interconnectedness to one another and to our precious Earth home. We do not be share from a pedestal, but rather with our feet planted firmly in the dirt, alongside everyone else, humbly bringing our experience, strength, hope, and sharing the ways in which we integrate these practices into our daily lives. To all the โ€œwild womenโ€ in my life- family, friends, and this community- I am so grateful for you. We have so much power as individuals and collectively. Instagram would only let me tag 20 women but there are so many more of you! โค๏ธ In her book โ€œWomen Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetypeโ€ Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. writes of the feminine nature: โ€œItโ€™s not by accident that the pristine wilderness of our planet disappears as the understanding of our own inner wild nature fades. It is not so difficult to comprehend why old forests and old women are viewed as not very important resources. It is not such a mystery.โ€ Estes says: โ€œWhen women reassert their relationship with the wildish nature, they are gifted with a permanent and internal watcher, a knower, a visionary, an oracle, an inspiratrice, an intuitive, a maker, a creator, an inventor, and a listener who guide, suggest, and urge vibrant life in the inner and outer worlds. When women are close to this nature, the fact of that relationship glows through them. This wild teacher, wild mother, wild mentor supports their inner and outer lives, no matter what. "The wild woman carries the bundles for healing; she carries everything a woman needs to be and to know โ€ฆ As in all art, she resides in the guts, not in the head โ€ฆ She whispers from night dreams, she leaves behind on the terrain of a womanโ€™s soul a coarse hair and muddy footprints โ€ฆ She is the voice which says, โ€˜This way, this way.โ€ โ€ฆ She is from the future and from the beginning of time.โ€ It is only natural then, that at this important time of re-evaluating humansโ€™ impact on the planet over the past 500 years or so, that we should return to a consideration of allowing women to step forward with their nurturing, strong-willed, and wild natures ready to make great social change. Itโ€™s now โ€“ standing on more solid ground (sometimes with a hand bracing me) - I can see that for myself and others. I made a conscious decision to change years ago, and I had NO clue what that meant nor looked like. I hold zero shame now that it meant trying out different things instead of staying comfortable within a career that was really going well and a way of being with myself thatโ€ฆwas most likely not going well.โฃ โฃ Choosing change has meant:โฃ ๐ŸŒพI can sit in front of a group of people and cry and find it to be completely normal. This is serious bizness!โฃ ๐ŸŒพIโ€™m on my way towards becoming a licensed therapist. Wha?โฃ ๐ŸŒพI came to know lack in ways that still floors me. From lack I have redefined abundance.โฃ ๐ŸŒพI know Mikey (pictured here โ€“ and yes,a stunner) and 30-something other wolves who became teachers.โฃ ๐ŸŒพI work with adolescents.
