A space for young people to build collective power to create the safer, happier, healthier world they want to live in 🌎

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Our future is in good hands.

76% of young people believe their age group has the power to enact change.

We are proud to share our new partnership with Rhizome, an amazing organization that creates space for youth to incubate new ideas and take action in their communities and their world on the issues THEY care about.

This $620,000 initiative will create even more Civic Fellowship Programs, establishing over 100 teams of Rhizome Fellows in hyperlocal chapters serving Washington state high schools. Currently, Rhizome has 8 programs in schools across the state.

Rhizome removes the responsibility of supporting a student club outside of class from the teacher and places it on the students and their Rhizome mentor. It honors student agency and diversity by equipping students to promote civic engagement within their school and identify issues they would like to address at a local level and authentically work toward their solution.

A recent illustration for the @we.rhize quarterly newsletter! I had so much fun illustrating this one, thinking about how we foster a sense of community and the work that happens beneath the surface 🌱

We’re excited to share that Social Creatures has been selected to join New Profit’s inaugural Alumni Lab Catalyze Cohort! Social Creatures is one of 12 organizations to be awarded $50,000 in unrestricted funding and advisory support from New Profit.

This opportunity provides flexible funding and a powerful peer community to help organizations like ours continue advancing innovative, community-driven solutions.

Last week, we gathered in Atlanta with inspiring leaders from across the country who are working to strengthen communities and expand opportunity. We’re honored to be part of this cohort and look forward to what we’ll build together.

⭐ Meet our inaugural Alumni Lab. ⭐

12 cross-sector organizations from previous New Profit Catalyze cohorts advancing access and opportunities in their communities.

This cohort was born from grantee feedback: they highlighted the need for ongoing flexible funding and peer community to navigate the current moment.

Federal funding cuts, declining institutional trust, and uncertainty have destabilized the sector. Yet, the proximity of these organizations to the communities they serve holds immense opportunity for impact.

That's what we designed the Alumni Lab to provide:

🔹$50,000 in unrestricted funding
🔹Advisory support
🔹Direct access to a community of fellow changemakers
