Acid For The Grandma :: What?
https://igloomag.com/features/acid-for-the-grandma
#igloomag #features @we_forfeit

"In many respects, the 12”s from Acid For The Grandma sound more like compilations. Each EP has a sense of being distinct and unique rather than a progression from one to the next. The real surprise is that it is one artist behind these releases, one musician exploring acid, ambient, house and techno and doing so from incredibly varied perspectives."

Interstellar Seance :: Synaptic Cliffs

#igloomag #profiles @we_forfeit

"What began as an ordinary box of records arriving at work quickly turns into a strange trip down the rabbit hole of Synaptic Cliffs—a label where extraterrestrials, electronic music legends, immaculate vinyl and one very elusive artist called pdqb somehow all make perfect sense."

V/A :: Documents of Different Reality (Cold Blow)
https://igloomag.com/reviews/documents-of-a-different-reality-cold-blow
#igloomag #reviews @we_forfeit

The depth and breadth of Documents of Different Reality is truly amazing. Cold Blow have done their homework and their research. This is a compilation of archaeological detail that brings to life the momentous machine music of the 1990s. In Spara’s own words, the collection connects “dots that people might have not connected before.”

Novel 23 :: Biogenes Resources (Art-Tek)

@we_forfeit

Biogenes Resources is a testament to what a new generation of Russian electronic artists would do. The hope and whimsy that permeate the album hark back to a time of potential, where possibilities stretched across the many time zones of the vast Eastern land. In this reproduction, using the original MIDI files, the past reminds us of both the preciousness of our freedom of expression and that such expression can never be stifled.

Digitonal :: The Night Album (Just Music)

#igloomag #reviews

@we_forfeit

"There is a sense of parring back with The Night Album. Electronic elements are present, but they are employed subtly and without over elaboration. Instead, it is Dobson’s own interaction with string and wind that is returned to with a renewed impetus and vigor. Captivatingly understated, Digitonal captures the glory of stopping and considering those forgotten sounds. An audio salve in an all too loud world." ~Robbie G

“We forfeit three-fourths of ourselves in order to be like other people.” - Arthur Schopenhauer

And we live by this axiom! Ah, not really. There’s no massive aesthetic or philosophical idea behind any of it; we just like cracking into the records. Vinyl is the medium of choice through no great burning purpose nor sense of authenticity-we just have ’em, and that’s what gets used. We don’t use effects because we don’t have any.

Collecting for nearly thirty years and knocking ’em together for twenty, WE FORFEIT has been spinning tracks spanning the length and breadth of electronic music since before he could shave-and still isn’t mighty at it (shaving, that is). Acid, wave, italo, techno, electro, house, new beat-no record is left unturned in the tireless pursuit of nothing in particular.

From the bowels of Longford, Ireland, Madrid has been home for more than a decade. A resident at Radio Relativa for over five years, WE FORFEIT (@we_forfeit) has conducted interviews with the likes of Adrian Marth, Cignol, Hyboid, and DMX Krew, alongside guest appearances from Featherstone, Mynationshit, and WLDV. Other mixes have appeared on IntergalacticFM, Internet Public Radio, and Narr. Maintaining the tension, WE FORFEIT has shared the booth in Dublin, Glasgow, and Madrid with DJs and musicians such as Arch (Femur), Alessandro Parisi, Drvg Cvlvtre, Juanpablo (Frigio), Neud Photo, and founding father Robo.

When not wrestling with the turntables, the written word is the opponent. Pen is put to paper, creating copy for a range of record labels including Bordello A Parigi, Italo Moderni, Shipwrec, and many more, as well as contributing to www.igloomag.com.

The mix is a wide selection from the shelves.

Cosmic Tribe :: Ancient roots, global reach

@we_forfeit

Granada was once the cosmopolitan capital of Al Andalus, a confluence of cultures, identities, and ideas that blossomed under an ancient sun. Today, the city still radiates an unmistakable energy. Thanks to Cosmic Tribe, Granada also resonates with a soundtrack that cultivates local artists while embracing global talent.

808 State vs Humanoid :: In Place of Language EP (De:tuned)

@we_forfeit

In Place of Language is a truly exciting record. In a time where much of electronic music harks back to the past, two trailblazers have combined to produce an EP that is firmly set on the future.
