Over the years I’ve been approached probably 100 times to promote companies’ products.

And I’ve always said no...until now.

@weare_indy is the only product I’ve ever put my name on. It’s a really impressive all-in-one solution for freelancers and independent consultants like me. It simplifies everything you’ll ever need to do, from contract templates to sending invoices and receiving payments to client management — all in one place. It’s solid, comprehensive and EASY to use.

Here are my 4 favorite tools I use everyday to run my design business:

1) @notionhq is my second brain that houses my notes, project portals, SOPs, goals, content calendar, video scripts, and important tasks.

2) @weare_indy is a great tool to help you manage your freelance business, providing CRM, invoicing, contracts, proposals, and a even sourcing other freelancers!

3) @figma Clearly using for a lot of design work (especially for web), but FigJam is a powerful tool for planning, inspiration, and collaboration, too!

4) @bankwithrelay is an online business banking platform I recently switched to. It’s especially great if you follow the Profit First (Mike Michalowicz) method for your business cash flow/management.

What tools do you use everyday to run your design, video, photo, or creative business?

I’m not bashing Dubsado by any means. I still think it’s a great platform! I just needed something that wasn’t so…

ROBUST 😵‍💫😮‍💨

Here are my reasons for making the switch:

👉If you’re familiar with Dubsado, then you know it’s very robust. Everything is extremely customizable. And while that’s a good thing, especially as a creative who offers very unique packages, it was TOO robust for my needs.

👉There were several times when my gmail would randomly disconnect from Dubsado. So when clients booked a meeting, the link wouldn’t populate for the meeting. This means I would have to go into Zoom and manually send their meeting links.

👉The cost of Dubsado didn’t make sense for my business anymore. 2023 is all about time management, credit building and financial security. After taking a look at my expenses, the $35 monthly payment for Dubsado (it’s usually $40 a month but I had locked in the $35 price when they were running a sale) didn’t make sense for where I was at in my business.

💁‍♀️ With Indy, everything is a-b-c, 1-2-3! You won’t have to replay a YouTube training or hire a Dubsado specialist to figure out how to send an invoice. I was also able to easily import my contacts from Dubsado. There’s not an excessive amount of customization but it’s just enough for my liking!

And to top it all off, INDY IS ONLY $9 A MONTH! 🤯
And if you pay up for the year, the price is only around $81 which is like $6.95 a month! THAT IS A STEAL!

In the mean time, I am trying to decide if I want to use Acuity or Calendly 🤔

What questions do you have about Indy? Do you think you’re going to try it out?

P.S. Dubsado is still going to be a great choice for a lot of people. You have to test things out and see what works best for you! No harm, no foul! 🤗
