🍕 We just ate pizza made by the officially crowned Best Pizza Chef in the world — for the second year in a row

And YES — it lives up to the hype.

Caserta, just outside Naples. No glamour, no fanfare — just a maternity/baby store next door. And right in the middle of it all: Francesco Martucci and his legendary pizzeria, I Masanielli @imasanielli 👑

Martucci was named The Best Pizza Chef 2025 AND 2026 by @thebestpizzawards And this isn’t a one-off: I Masanielli has also repeatedly been ranked among — and even at the very top of — the world’s best pizzerias by @50toppizza 🏆

His signature? The “canotto” — a high, airy, long-fermented crust that pushes Neapolitan pizza into a whole new direction.

What we tasted:

🐃 Bufala — DOP buffalo mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, pure simplicity done right.

🍕 Capricciosa — tradition at its finest.

🌋 Vikings — the signature: roasted cherry tomato cream, salted cod, crispy onion, parsley, Caiazzana olive powder, fermented black garlic mousse & Rotondella extra virgin olive oil.

The verdict?

Not just pizza. A seriously refined dish that happens to be shaped like one.

$Why Our Mozzarella Costs 3X More 🇮🇹 I spent 2 years and 4 months traveling to farms and factories around the world—not just looking for safe ingredients, but searching for the very best ingredients I could find and getting to know the people, processes and values behind the companies making them. This trip took me to Sant’Anastasia, outside Napoli, to see firsthand how the Italian cheeses we chose for our pizzas are made. Our fiordilatte starts with milk sourced from small European farms—some with as few as 10 cows—and is made using traditional old-world methods. I could have chosen mass-produced American mozzarella that costs a fraction of what we pay. Instead, we import our fiordilatte from Italy at roughly 3X the cost. Because being gluten-free was never enough for me. I wanted the food to be safe AND made with exceptional ingredients.
