Dr. Bedell joined Jordyn for a meaningful conversation about communication, inclusion, and making sure every student has the opportunity to be heard. #BelongGrowSucceed

UGH. Let me attempt not to ramble, but today was a big one. ❤️

Coco and I had the incredible opportunity to meet @jordynbzim , a nonspeaking autistic advocate who uses AAC to communicate.

I got emotional watching and listening to Jordyn. As the mom of a nonspeaking 5-year-old, it’s hard to put into words what it means to see someone like her advocating for better education, accessibility, and opportunities for kids like Coco.

And despite her packed schedule, Jordyn asked if she could meet Coco. A gesture that probably seemed small to her, but meant the world to me and her dad.

A huge thank you to Anne Arundel County Public Schools for helping make this happen. It makes me genuinely proud to be part of a school system that’s willing to listen, learn, and rethink what education can look like for students who communicate differently.

Jordyn, thank you for paving the way for little girls like mine. You’ve given this mom a whole lot of hope for what’s ahead. ❤️

It was great day with this team from @wearefello!

The Fello Communities team had the opportunity to volunteer with the Anne Arundel County Food Bank this morning, sorting and packaging thousands of pounds of food for families in need. AACFB distributed over 4.8 million pounds of food and supported over 619,000 instances of service last year.

We’re proud to support its vital work helping local families facing food insecurity, and I’m proud of our team to continue our monthly efforts of giving back to our local communities.

I’m grateful to Fello for this recognition and for their 65 years of serving people with disabilities and working to build more inclusive communities across Maryland. Their commitment to services, supports, and opportunities reflects something I’ve believed throughout my career: independence and interdependence go hand in hand.

We all want the ability to direct our own lives, but none of us gets through life alone. That, to me, is the Beloved Community that Dr.King spoke about — making sure everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and thrive.

Today, we joined @wearefello for Take Your Legislator to Work Day at Correct Rx Pharmacy Services in Hanover, Maryland, where Andrew, a Building Maintenance Technician, gave us a tour of his workplace and showed us what he does every day to keep things running smoothly. His pride in his work was obvious, and it was just as clear how much his team values him. He gave us the full tour even while under the weather!

This day is all about letting legislators see the talent people with disabilities bring to Maryland workplaces, and it's a perfect way to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this October.

We were so glad Shawn Penn from Delegate Rogers' office could join us, too. Thank you for taking the time to see Andrew in action!

Sixty-five years of showing up for people with disabilities and their families, and Saturday night was a celebration worth being part of. 🎉

Funk & Bolton was proud to join Fello for Fello at 65, honoring six and a half decades of advocacy, inclusion, and opportunity. Congratulations to House Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk and Secretary Jake Day, who were honored for their leadership and commitment to the community.

Thank you to the whole Fello team for having us. Here's to the next 65!

It was an honor to join @wearefello in celebrating 65 years of creating community and expanding opportunity for people with disabilities. What began with families advocating for a better future has grown into an incredible organization centered on inclusion, support, housing, and connection.

Music therapy 🐾🎶💜

Our favorite day of the week is music day! Over the last 18 months these two have built a bond and trust to improve Tanner’s communication and social skills, regulation, managing transitions, desensitization and motor planning to name a few.

Thank you @wearefello for the Family Fund grant and @annapolismusictherapy for the partnership 🎶💜🐾 and for letting me take a nap during the sessions as I safely get Tanner to and from your offices is a lot of work 🐾💤

In a few weeks Tanner and I will be filmed at music therapy as part of @wearefello campaign to fundraise for the Family Fund. My guy is a total show off and ham for cameras, I’ll do my best not to snore!

And a shout out to Miss Anissa as she’s getting married so we will see her in 2 weeks. Congratulations!! 💍🥂
