🧚🏻‍♀️So far: June. A little palette cleanser for your feed.

While stress is high, I like to take time to count on things I feel grateful for. Tell me one of yours, no matter how small okay?

Feeling grateful for time with our Mega Fam. Grateful we are heading to Rhode Island later this month for @as220shows with @cvmrats @loumacemusic & @wearefinethanks

I’m never gonna shut up about @thefestfl lineup we get to be apart of. Grateful for the Fest, @413ska Pioneer Valley Ska Fest.

Grateful for
playing new places and meeting new people! Shout out to our new friends in @meowmeowband @risedefy @gonzobombrva @nocallnoshowband @put.over.photo and our old friends in @godsfavoritehc and @littlegreenarthouse

📢 big ass shout out for Scott @dcxpc_live @snappermagees and Dez @modernnativesband 📢 what a crew of pros. What an environment they build for bands. Also a spot that has amazing sound, air conditioning and sweetie bartenders gets all of the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

We haven’t played a show with this many hardcore bands before. I moshed so much there’s even a wipeout vid on DCxPCs IG hahah oops. Grateful for friends that pick you up when you fall down.

Not to say that I am not aware of how much sh!t sucks rn. You’re allowed to be so angry. You’re allowed to feel deflated. You’re allowed to feel scared. But remember why you fight. Remember everything worth fighting for and everyone who you want to have that too. Joy is resistance- take a little and hold on for hope.

SAVE THE DATES! From AS220’s Grants Manager Mike Ahern:

“As part of AS220’s 40th Anniversary, we are bringing back Queer Arts Fest. I’ve been project managing the fest and have invited a handful of community curators to host a series of events at our Main Stage, Black Box Theater, and beyond. Queer Arts Fest: Providence is Burning is an intersectional, free-to-low cost alternative to Providence Pride that centers artistic expression and celebration. It will also be in part, a commemoration of queer elders from AS220’s past.

Curators include: @sheyriv + @studio.loba_ , @peculiarpictureshowpvd , @as220galleries , @avenuepvd , @rkoarmy , @romero_a_crow , @pyxis.pvd , @hausofglitterdanceco , & @hausofcodec

“Providence is Burning” is an ode to the seminal LGBTQ+ documentary Paris is Burning, which depicted ball culture in 1980s New York and the BIPoC and trans artists that built havens for their communities. The documentary is an exploration of this subculture and of race, class, gender, and sexuality in America. As I reflect on the history of AS220’s queer artists, and as I aim to create a haven for queer folks in this moment of time, particularly for identities that are often on the fringes of community, subtitling this event in honor of this historic piece of filmmaking feels aligned.

Events will include dance nights, family programming, live music, community conversations, film screenings, and more.”

Feeling Beyond the Noise.

Some songs don’t just play — they move through you, healing the parts you forgot were broken.
