Funny enough, this was one of my favorite little performances captured during the @weareplanes era.
Coming across this video brings up so many emotions for me. Not just nostalgia, but memories of who I was and what my life felt like at this time. I was fully immersed in @placeboworld but Planes was such a special group for me. I had started it with @tedduprezbrunning back in 2011, and it was a band of my peers people who were my best friends, and people I genuinely loved being around.
In a lot of ways, Planes gave me the camaraderie and friendship I was missing at the time. So many of our best moments were just little things like this. Sitting around my flat in West London, jamming, writing and playing music together simply because it felt good.
I remember exactly how good it felt in that kitchen. @char_la_la__ brought so much beauty to our music with her violin, keys and vocals, and what we as a group created together was truly special.
Things eventually fell apart, as bands sometimes do, but this was a really sweet spot for us. I miss these guys terribly.
Every band I’ve been a part of has left something different with me, friendships, memories and experiences I’ll carry forever. I’m so grateful for all of them.
This is just a little moment captured in a kitchen in West London with some of my best friends, playing this @thegetupkids cover together. But somehow, it means the world to me.

In the studio circa #2013 with @weareplanes figuring out vocal parts with @drew_wale and @char_la_la__ for our #hotfoot EP.
We had been tracking on and off for months in between my touring schedule, and this was the final stretch. We decided to track vocals at @bushstudios where my whole musical journey in #london began. Immediately following this session, I had to bomb over to #camdentown for a #placebo gig at the Round House!
I’m extremely grateful for the friends I made whilst out there, and the art we created. Thanks to all who enjoyed this chapter with us 🤘❤️

#throwback to #planes early days in London when the debut EP had just been released (there's only the original hard copies out in existence, it was pre the days of #spotify #applemusic #deezer etc and since we haven't re-released for streaming yet*) this was back when Char O'lette was still living in #bristol so missed this day out

I've been saying for years I would dig out the master's to get put out on all streaming services, I'll organise sometime this year! There must be a good 20 tracks sitting there between the two EPs, "Set it On" single with the b-side, then the pre-production for the debut album, which was sadly cut short before we hit the studio. That's a lot of great music which never saw the light of day!

When Deezer flow suggests something based on your choices..... at least the algorithms somehow linked my influences and musical tastes to suggest I listen to myself.... 😊
