Two guys from Newbury who met as teenagers because they'd both caught the production bug. They started Punctual in 2016 while still at uni. Ten years later they've got a Brit Award at home and most people who've danced to their records couldn't tell you their names.

As an artist project, Punctual has done well for itself. 'I Don't Wanna Know' broke into the UK top 100 back in 2020 and passed 50 million streams. 'Do It All Again' with Jordan Shaw sits close behind at 48 million. They've released through Monstercat, teamed up with Kaskade and with Lewis Thompson, made a track with Aluna about what 2021 felt like, and remixed Jonas Blue, HONNE and Amber Mark. Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and Radio 1 have all backed them, and they've played Glastonbury, Tomorrowland and SW4.

But that's only half of what they do. The other half doesn't show up on any cover.

[01] ▶︎ 'Kisses' — BL3SS, CamrinWatson & bbyclose — 530M+
[02] ▶︎ 'Think About Us' — Sonny Fodera — 95M
[03] ▶︎ 'New Religion' — Bebe Rexha & Faithless — 93M
[04] ▶︎ 'Summertime Blues' — Chris Lake & Sammy Virji feat. Nathan Nicholson — 49M
[05] ▶︎ 'Blackberries' — FISHER — 47M

Over 800 million streams across those five, and you won't find Punctual on a single artwork. That's just the dance side of it, the lane they came up in and still live in.

The pop world keeps calling too. Kylie Minogue, Nelly Furtado, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Jason Derulo, Ella Henderson, MNEK, all of them with Punctual somewhere in the credits. Two billion streams in total. Album of the Year at the 2024 Brits and a Mercury Prize nomination, both through their work on Raye's 'My 21st Century Blues'.

That's the part worth sitting with. Plenty of producers stay behind the credits because they have no other option. Punctual chose to do both, and they're winning at both.

Did you already know they were behind these tracks? 👇

wowwwww 🥹🙏 @followthefishtv

ill never forget the day we wrote this song cus it was like the first sunny hot day of the year in london. me will and stevie went and sat in the sun to try figure out the rest of the lyrics and when we came back inside, john had made this sick vocal chop that made it sound like I was saying blackberries, and that’s literally how we figured out the final puzzle piece of it all. Love you guys @stevieappleton @wearepunctual.

Behind the song: What Do I Have To Do by @beckyhill
1. The second song I wrote with Becky for her forthcoming album Rebecca! First time working with the incredible @emilymakis and long time favourites @wearepunctual. If you listen to the end, I’m available for weddings and bar-mitzvah’s.
2. Becky touring her new stuff around the country this summer and smashing out the song.
3. What an incredible and ground breaking music video and powerful message!

British singer/songwriter Becky Hill has teamed up with Australian record producer Sonny Fodera for his new single “Say Something,” which is now available via is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Google Music and all other digital streaming platforms.

It was written by Hill and Fodera alongside Charlotte Haining and Karen Poole, while production duties were handled by Fodera, with Punctual (John Morgan and William Lansley) and Neve Applebaum serving as additional producers, and Kevin Grainger as mixing engineer and mastering engineer.

The song is about the frustration of poor communication and emotional shutdown in a relationship. It highlights a dynamic where one person wants to talk and resolve an issue, while the other avoids the problem and goes silent.

Fodera has yet to confirm whether he will be releasing more standalone singles or whether his recent promotional singles will be part of a full length album or EP from the musician.

Meanwhile, Hill’s third album “Rebecca” – featuring singles “Hands On Me,” “More! More! More!” and “What Do I Have to Do?” – will arrive on 25 September via Universal Music Group / Eko Records / Polydor Records.

The highly-anticipated project follows 2024’s “Believe Me Now?,” which peaked at number three in the UK and spawned eight singles in the shape of “Side Effects,” “Disconnect,” “Never Be Alone,” “Outside of Love,” “Right Here,” “True Colours,” “Multiply” and “Swim.”
