Starting up a monthly small ensemble/ambient/singer-songwriter series in my new home of Stillwater at @mattsbasement. So very pleased to announce our winter line-up of talented folks: @qliviamusic, @aloneamusic, @wearethewillows, @zipitydoda. I'll be kicking things off this Friday (m/birthday to boot) at 6:30pm. $10 suggested donation.

Tonight - Ellie Jackson, Hemma, and We Are The Willows⚡️⚡️⚡️

Info + Tix in bio🎟️

Ellie Jackson delivers determined vulnerability exploring emotions through guitars, stories, amplification and a careful balance of harmony and dissonance that creates pulpy electro folk rock songs. Born on the East coast but raised by the Midwest, Ellie Jackson has been writing her entire life, processing the weight of the world and searching for her place in it. She’s joined bills with countless Milwaukee artists as well as national touring acts like Nona Invie, Finom, and Say She She. You’ll often find her joining forces on stage with songwriting sensations such as Johanna Rose, Caley Conway, Old Pup and Maximiano.

Emerging artist Hemma comes from a family lineage of singers, and has spent the last decade carving her own path as a singer-songwriter in the Americana, folk and jazz scenes of the Midwest.

We Are The Willows is the art pop project of Minneapolis based singer/ songwriter/ producer Peter M. His unique countertenor voice is often supported by Jeremiah Satterthwaite (guitar), Travis Collins (bass/ voice), Hilary James (cello/ voice), and Josh McKay (drums). Whether as a band or a solo artist, we are the willows crafts dynamic songs with a contemplative air. The songs cover a lot of conceptual ground: from family history to modern social life and personal identity.

One of our favorite things about running a venue is the sheer amount of incredible music we experience and meeting the folks behind the music. This October, No Name Bar is packed with so much good music, we just couldn't keep it to ourselves! So, like your old high school crush, we made you a mixtape. We hope you find your new favorite band when you give it a listen! See you at the show 🤘
