@indaviduall is a brilliant artist who has created these images that really speak to the atrocities being inflicted upon the Nigerian people right now. ⁣
⁣
Disbanding SARS is only one step in a long list of reform needed around police violence, extra-judicial killings and torture! These are human beings—unforgivable!⁣
⁣
On the second slide, there are a few actionable steps that you can take to help. I’ve also tagged a few IG pages to follow—stay informed of what’s going on. ⁣

Black Lives Matter on every inch of this 🌏. We got your back Nigeria 🇳🇬 ✊🏿🖤🖤🖤

We would like to take the time to pray for our brothers and sisters in Nigeria as they continue to protest SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) and move to end police brutality in their home. Please take the time to educate yourself on the movement, along with others taking place in Africa.

We at Soldiers of Pole believe Black Lives Matter. Period. We will not be silent to the tragic injustices happening right now, and those injustices which have been a part of our nation’s history. We are here to pay reparations. We are here to accept responsibility in dismantling systemic inequalities. No justice, no peace. And we are ANTI COP. The policing system was created to oppress Black Americans and to dismantle labor related uprisings. It is the tool used by people with power to disempower marginalized people, and we believe all cops are bastards. It is the institutionalized silence that perpetuates a culture of violence. We should not have militarized police able to act with impunity. We should see cops facing charges when they commit murders, but that’s the thing about cops: they are state sanctioned murderers. We believe in community based justice. We believe in mutual aid. We believe it is our job to speak unequivocally about where we stand, especially now. #Restinpower George Floyd, Regis Korchinski Paquet, Breonna Taylor, Tony Dade, Nina Pop, Dreasjon “Sean” Reed, and the many other black people taken before their time. #blacklivesmatter
