Today is “Give Local” and the Lake Waramaug Association needs your help!
You know firsthand what makes Lake Waramaug worth cherishing. Think of the moments the lake has given you. The fireworks reflected on the water. A quiet morning swim. Days of pure joy with friends and family. None of that happens by accident. It happens because this community comes together to make it so. every donation matters. We truly appreciate your support. https://www.givelocalccf.org/organizations/the-lake-waramaug-association-inc

Boat lifts on Candlewood Lake aren’t one-size-fits-all.
Water depth, seasonal drawdown, and ice all affect what works long term.

This is Candlewood Lake in winter vs summer.

Ice is already here, and docks/lifts should already be out.

The ongoing drawdown explains why winter removal matters.

Candlewood Lake dock reality: yes, you can build or upgrade a dock — but it’s not “just build it.”
Between the 440 / Project boundary, FirstLight permitting, and town wetlands rules, Candlewood is very different from most CT lakes.

That’s why @wedocks is the best option for Connecticut boat docks. Collin knows how to design docks and lifts that actually work on Candlewood and get permitted correctly. He set my family up with a @sunstreamboatlifts floating lift — our water is super deep in New Milford near the dam and it’s been unreal. Keeps the boat clean, pairs perfectly with our cantilever dock, and it’s sturdy enough that I’ll tie up a second boat on the side with a big bumper.

If you’re on Candlewood and thinking about a dock or lift, doing it right the first time matters.
Full breakdown coming in the blog post: “Can You Build a Dock on Candlewood Lake?”
