Otakon 2026 had a lot of mishaps for me.

– I didn’t capture enough footage for a full CMV.
– I was overstimulated for 90% of the weekend.
– Some of the footage is wildly out of focus.

Yet despite everything and this being only my second time shooting 16mm it came out as… a beautiful disaster. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ll continue improving with this camera, just as I have with my main camera. Filmmaking is more than simply recording video. It is an art form, just like painting on a canvas or capturing a photograph.

Following up from my 16mm camera video! This is my test footage for my camera a few months back. I bought the camera off of Facebook Marketplace for $300 that came with a Zeiss Carl Jena Flektagon 35mm F2.4 lens. The mechanism to change the aperture blades is broken so it stays stuck wide open.
:
When I tell people there is something about Film that digital can't replicate it's this! Digital picture even if you add on retro filters/effects, the image still comes out clean.. yet for its purpose artificial. The film shows character to the footage, the grain, the random spots, and imperfections. I can't wait to shoot more with this!

During this last year I wanted to find a way to have more creativity as a videographer, so I went down a rabbit hole and got myself a Krasnogorsk-3 16mm film camera.
:
There is something special about shooting in film that digital video cannot fully replicate. Even if you use filters and SFX to get the old grainy film look, it is not the same as shooting in actual film. So I can't wait to use this over the weekend!

There’s so much more to strength training than building muscle.

As both a therapist and a newcomer to powerlifting training, I’ve become fascinated by the intersection of strength training, nervous system regulation, and mental health. In this conversation, we explore how strength training can help build resilience, not just physically, but emotionally as well.

A few things we discuss:
🌱 Why mental health is about more than just mindset
🧠 What the “window of tolerance” is and why it matters
🏋️ How controlled stress can help build resilience
💛 How regular exercise can be a powerful protective factor for mental health

As a clinician, I’m passionate about bridging research with real-life experiences. I hope this conversation sparks curiosity about the many ways movement can support our mental well-being and reminds us that caring for our mental health often includes caring for our bodies, too.

I’d love to hear what resonates with you after you watch!

Reupload: my audio got lost halfway? Hopefully it's fine now
:
My videography journey? It wasn't a straight line. More like a crash, a long pause, and a hard reset. This is how it went down.
:
Before any cameras, my videography journey actually started in high school, editing AMVs. Then, from a humble Canon G7Xii in 2018 to the advanced Sony ZV-E10II today, my path has been anything but linear.
:
I started with pure passion, filming everything from MMA to cosplay, even offering my skills for free. But by late 2019, burnout hit hard. I almost hung up my camera for good, and then COVID-19 made that retirement official. For years, my gear sat silent. (Well, mostly. From 2021 to 2024, my DJI Pocket 2 was still busy filming my powerlifting training, keeping that creative muscle active even if it wasn't for clients.)
:
But the pull of creating never really left. In 2023, a social media role at my gym rekindled the spark, leading to the DJI Pocket 3. (Yes, I’ve had every generation: 1, 2, and now 3. I will somehow find a way to get my hands on the DJI Pocket 4 pro not the bootlegged Xtra Muse). And after years of encouragement from friends, especially in the cosplay community, I made the leap back in 2026 with the Sony ZV-E10II. This isn't just about the cameras; it's about the grind, the burnout, and the unexpected comeback. If you've ever felt like giving up on something you loved, you'll get this. If you have a comeback story I'd love to hear from you!
