“The Dream” is out now with a premiere on @weekinpop , and accompanied by a beautiful set of words courtesy of Sjimon Gompers.

It is the first entry in my A Song A Week series and the start of a new era of my songwriting.

This song is dedicated to the memory of Seth Loeser @silver_morning_mgmt , my former manager, mentor, and dear friend, who arguably believed in the dream more than I ever have.

Swipe for excerpts from the premiere, and follow the links in the bio to find “The Dream” on your preferred streaming service of choice.

I’ll see you all here next week with another new one, yeah?

Swipe 4 all the captions! FIRST it’s been 5 days of Alien Witch and the NYC release show is on Wednesday 10/7 at Nightclub 101 rehearsals are great can’t wait to see what you wear! @mila_sullivan will open the show with a burlesque show!

What if evolved beings are evolved not only technologically but also in love energy and since they are in pure presence and love they can communicate with us? This is the concept of Alien Witch

Me the day before Alien Witch came out !

I think part of the reason In the Flowers is so insane is because I’ve had this song for 8 years and I always sing it on ukulele and then when recording I had so many layers because I knew it so so so well. Once I asked Andrew Bird about his process and he said he played songs a lot live before recording and I really did that here

Some of the details of the album cover because I really layered it in!

I tracked all my vocals by myself in my safe space and I loved it

I LOVE reading what everyone is writing!! I am LOVING the messages from everyone thank you for listening and sending your thoughts !

The night during Covid when I wrote What If It *Is* Me?! Written on ukulele during a beer phase I guess haha it was probably April 2020 so you remember how it was. Around the time I began to think about Background Songs For Your Boring Life, but I had a dream that told me “don’t forget the ukulele songs”… I obliged and now 6 years later they are out. I did not forget that dream, it guided me, I listened

Out today! “I Want A New Drug” is the 2nd single from our forthcoming album “Love & Other Lies” & you can view our video now - vid by @oliviarbayer

https://youtu.be/liYk4OgSuRU?si=iBjD-G9yo2VHuNTF

“Tackling Huey Lewis & the News’ massive radio hit “I Want a New Drug”, Federale subverts the glamorous neon gloss of the 1980s Bill Graham promoted yuppie pomp & bop with a razor rail of rusted revelry. The group supplants the snooted and zooted Wall Street day trader chic for the western coast wandering bandit bombast of world wary outcasts looking for an angry fix.” - Week In Pop

Also we are returning to SF, CA on Nov 28th to play The Kilowatt w/ El Radio Fantastique get tix!

@federale_pdx takes on Huey Lewis & The News with “I Want A New Drug,” premiering today via Week in Pop.

“A sleeper hit from your favorite no wavers, post-punkers, coal streaked mascara mavens, art pop indies, and all the counter culture kings and queens of cool.”- @weekinpop

Federale infects the heart of Huey Lewis’ pop classic with something darker, stranger, and unmistakably their own. A new take on a new drug.

Watch the official video by Olivia Bayer and read more via Week in Pop. Link in bio.

“I Want A New Drug” is out everywhere tomorrow. Love & Other Lies arrives October 30 on Jealous Butcher Records.

We’ve been busy dusting off some older songs for this upcoming tour, including a bunch from 2019’s Kebab Disco. Thanks to Stew at Emotional Response, Layla/MRR, Stuart McHugh, Week In Pop and everyone else who has supported us this whole time… There’s a Billy Connolly quote about a Scottish boomerang – it doesn’t come home, it just sings about coming back… Kebab Disco is a Glasgow album written in California… we will be playing in Glasgow on August 1. Tickets at link in bio.

Really grateful for the press “No Matter” has been getting in its first week - the folks who are writing about this song really get it, and I’ve highlighted some favorite quotes from these features in @weekinpop @indienoxzine and @rmaspodcast

Thanks to the good human journalists at these outlets working to bring indie music in front of more eyes, into more living rooms and onto more record players.

And thanks to @publicdisplaypr for the hard work to get this song in front of those journalists. And thanks to @groundswellcapital for the grant that made THAT possible.

We don’t do any of it alone, y’all. It all happens in community.
